I was looking for a usb cable on Frys.com and found this.

    FRYS.com | HVG2

Since when did they start making usb chargers? -____- and why are people paying other people to mod their psps so that they can charge via USB if we have these to buy.

*sigh* maybe im just really outdated. But this thing is amazing to me.

yeah but this doesn't charge your psp via the usb port of the psp
thats what everyone likes for some reason.
not the fact that your computer charges your psp.

But it also connects your psp to your computer.

Meaning its more efficient than a USB.

    And from what i heard.

You can't play games on the PSP slim while its charging via USB.

that would be a major let down considering how many times my psp gets low on battery power, and with a cable. any cable will do. even though sony has said in the manual do not use any other chargers, etc but honestly its total crap. i even have a car charger that works fine and sony dousnt own it. one thing im interested in knowing is the difference between batteries for the psp. how long does this one last and how long do the others last...

3rd party chargers can overload, or underpower, batteries.. making them work wrong. Ie, the guy who had his battery explode.

I bought one of the USB chargers from FRY's for us non-Slim owners this thing is great, no it does not charge the PSP through it's USB connection but rather plugs into the computer's usb and splits off to two ends, one a usb connection for the PSP for Data transfer and the other is for the power connector on the bottom. It works fantastic and really convienent.

Noobz! made something for fat and slim to charge anytime through USB cable. Slims could only charge on the USB Connecting screen.
    My boring journey thing:

ive had one of those usb > psp power outlet . and it charges my psp and power it with out the battery. i think i pick it from Wall-mart. for like 10 bucks its great when you are on your computer you can have your usb charging while your changing files on your psp.

    Hi guys!!!
I've just read about using 3rd party chargers. As long as your charger unit emits more than 1.2Amps, you should ok as my electronic studies tought me the more amps the better as visa virsa to voltage. So, as the charger that came with the system is 2.0Amps, you can use anything as long as it doesn't go below the voltage as stated ( like i've just found out with my 3rd party charger. lol)
Also, some pc's usb power is constant even with the pc off so if your pc's bios has awake by usb or something like that, then you can charge the unit with just the usb part and not the pc.

    Hope that's helped?

8/28/07 just bricked my psp (aw, my first brick)
