The Exploit only works with the Firmwares from 4.20 to 5.02
If you got another Firmware on your 3k you're lost.

carp> You're absolutely correct... it's not anything important or new, but you miss -The King-'s intent. There are at least 2-3 new threads or bumps to ancient threads from newbies asking "Can I hack my 3000" or "When will the 3000 be hacked" etc. etc.

Maybe by sticky-ing this thread, it would help eliminate the endless barrage of repeat questions. I know, I know... if stupid people would just do a Search first... too bad we've broken the whole natural selection process and can't let nature weed them out.

The purpose of his thread was to attract peoples attention so they go "It has?!?!" then they read through it to figure out how, and then they realize "Wait, it really hasn't been hacked?" That's why he wants it stickied.

The way I see it, the problem is caused by a bunch of lazy/stupid/inconsiderate/noobs (select one or more) that fail to use the 'Search'.

Maybe the solution would be to make an additional button next to 'Quote Post' and 'Quick Replay' that would automatically enter something like 'No it hasn't been hacked, go to this thread ....". Of course, that button would probably get worn out within a few days.

Hi guys. Im new to psp. So sorry if my questions seem newbish. i want to ask what exactly is PSP Hacking? Does it mean downgrading the firmware or does it also include putting a custom firmware on it??

I would also like to know currently what is not possbile on PSP Slim? Downgrading or putting custom firmware?

Also, what do you guys think about this link. The guy says "Installation requires a PSP with 3.52 M33-3 or higher [Phat PSP], or 3.60 m33 or higher [Slim PSP]. Others and Official sony firmwares shouldn't try it."

Does it mean we can install a custom firmware on PSP 300x Slim?
