this hasn't worked for me at all. not even once. followed directions exactly. i can't get the original chickhen r2 to load anymore and none of the modded ones seem to work either for some reason.

What model & firmware did you start with and what steps have you taken?

i have a 3005 that came with ofw 5.03.

from there i installed chickhen r2 and 5.03 gen-a with no problems at all. i've been using it for a few months and then upgraded to 5.03 gen-b. i've had to re-install chickhen r2 and 5.03 gen-a/5.03 gen-b several times since installing them, but i haven't had any major issues until today. i usually got chickhen to load with less than 5 tries. i think i've literally tried over 100 times for the past several hours and i haven't gotten it to load once.

I haven't yet used 5.03 GEN-B (I wonder what improvements it makes...) but I've had similar troubles with getting ChickHEN to work unless I run the "Restore Default Settings" option first.

Have you tried this?

and what advantages does GEN-B have?

yeah i have tried doing "restore default settings" too. several times actually. that didn't work, and a few "100% success rate" type guides/methods i found online didn't work either.

as far as i know, the main advantage of gen-b is that you can play games needing 5.50+ fw without having to decrypt them.

Hmmm... How about pulling the battery for 5 minutes or so to drain any and all capacitors and then trying again. I'm just wondering if you might have something stuck in memory that isn't clearing out since you used to be able to apply the hack. It's a long shot but if you're already grasping at straws it can't hurt and has worked for me with many other types of equipment.

I looked into it and actually GEN-D isn't out for the PSP-3000, only for the 1000's and some 2000's. 5.03 GEN-B just came out this Halloween and is for 5.50+ required games (according to PSPGEN).

i finally got it to work on the 2nd try using this:

Settings For PSP so you can Catch Up ChickHen Exploit Easily!

this only applies on PSP having 5.03 Official Firmware!

Requirements:
Original Memorystick Magicgate Supported, fake will do do but a less chances of loading the exploit!

Question and Answer Portion:
Q1: do your PSP have a Higher version than 5.03 OFW? If YES!
A2: Sorry theres nothing you can do about it! please. STOP asking over and over again!

1. insert Memory stick on PSP and Format it if you don't know how to do this please.pls.please. Do not Proceed.

2. Get all files here and follow the tutorial:

3. go to Settings-> System settings-> Restore default settings your PSP will reboot

a. select a language - English
b. select a timezone - GMT+08:00 Perth
c. set date and time - look unto your watch, cellphone, wallclock or ask somebody else pity on you lol!
d. Enter nickname - endlessparadigm.com

then press () or X to complete the setup.

4. go to Settings-> System settings

a. Character Set - US
b. UMD Auto Start - Off
c. UMD Cache - Off
d. USB Charge - Off
e. USB Auto Connect - off

5. goto Photo menu on XMB

a. scroll to memorystick then press () or X to Open
b. wait for the ChikHEN Folder GLOW TO BLINK TWICE then HOLD () or X to Open (do not let go Hold it!)
c. then Immidiately scrolldown by pressing DPAD Down (do not let go Hold it!)
d. then let the TIFF file load to your PSP System.

if your SCREEN show GLITCHES or DISTORTION like images then it restart itself it means that the ChickHen is Loaded Successfully!
to confirm go to Settings-> System Settings-> System Information it will give you System Software 5.03 ChickHENr2

if it FREEZE and shutdown Removed your Battery and put it back on, open UMD door then try the proceedures again!
if still does not work the Memorystick sucks.

I think i have to do this!


NOTE: if your PSP turn Off it will go back to Official Firmware please. use the standby Function instead.
