I bought my psp just last week and have been reading the forums since then. i have a 2.71 fw and upgraded it to 3.03 oe-b manually. My problem is some of the iso's/cso's hangs or the psp shuts down when i execute them. Do i need a umd to play these games? what should i do? i am sure that they are not corrupted files. But why is it that some of the games work perfectly and some don't? can someone please help me. thanks!

"Owned" (often typed in leet speak among gamers) is an internet slang word used commonly in gaming circles to acknowledge a form of superiority through the downfall of another entity, be it another gaming clan, or a single user.

That doesn't help at all genius...

Some UMDs need the UMD inside the drive and the NO-UMD function Disabled (in recovery). I personally just leave a UMD inside and leave it disabled so its 99.9% compatible. http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=40036 is a compatibility thread for 3.02( and yes its almost the same shit as 3.03). If you want better NO-UMD support stick with 2.71 SE-C (i think it's C could be one of the other previous versions)
Please could you stop the noise, I'm trying get some rest

Dark alex has recognized that the noumd is not compatible with all games, so I agree with bender. What I find works quite well is running the ISO first time with umd in and noumd mode disabled, then somehow, the second time I run the iso, it runs fine without a UMD

ok, so i need to put a umd in order to run those games? even if i upgrade to the new 3.03 oe-c will it still be the same? or even if i flash it again?
snookao, i think popstation is for the psx. i will try to run the game with a umd and will update you. thanks!

is there a FW where you could play any ISO's/CSO's that would not require you a umd?

I dont know much about this as I always use the UMD to play my games. I never have any of these problems with the UMD being inserted.
