The Ratchet And Clank game is a UMD or ISO/CSO?

Ok, I'm a bit of noob (though I've gone through the faqs), so apoligies in advance for any dumbass question.
Anyway, I just converted my PSP to from 1.5 to 3.4oe as per the instructions here but have had the following problems:
1. My save files (backed up previously) register as "corrupted" now. (Especially annoying losing 30hours+ of puzzle quest progresss!). I've formated the mem. stick and all that, but no luck.
2. Most games work but some, specifically Ratchet And Clank, just load a BLANK BLACK SCREEN (I've worked my way around the specific "error" problems).
Any ideas? Thanks!
The Ratchet And Clank game is a UMD or ISO/CSO?
I have both .cso and .iso of it. Same problem with each of them.
Possible reasons:
1. Bad dump. So just redump it again from the UMD.
2. The ../SYSDIR/UPDATE is missing.
3. The ../SYSDIR/UPDATE files inside are 0 bytes.
Number 2 and 3 are methods used to reduce the iso sizes. But I have hitherto encounter 4 games that cannot be played when I delete the ../SYSDIR/UPDATE directory.
Thanks guys, I'll try those things.
As to my saved games: they're in the right directory and they come up ok in the xmb, but are registering "corrupted" in the actual games.
BTW, maybe it'd be worth "re-flashing", or downgrading to another 3.xx oe, can anyone point out (or just point me toward are tute) on how to do this?
Thanks guys.
you don't need to downgrade to another firmware you can reflash 3.40oe or another oe version again the same way when you upgraded.
sometimes a restore to default settings helps you can try it.and see if the games works.
try this. go to recovery menu. advanced. advanced configuration. make sure they're all disabled. try your games
1.- Save files from 1.50 are NOT compatible with 2.82 or 3.00 (off the top of my head) and over. So, if you really want to finish that game, go back to 1.50. Otherwise stay in 3.40OE and play again all the way through.
2.- Method of loading Rachet and Clank ONLY:
A) Get to the Recovery Menu
B) Change ISO CPU Speed to 266 (or 333)
C) Enable No-UMD option
The game should play.
Hope it helps.
You do realize theres a new save format for savegames in 3.40. The conversion from Pre 3.40 games to a compatable 3.40 file format can result in corrupted saves. if anything, since you have your saves backed up, use 3.30OE.
