how do i upgrade to 3.40 oe?

hi im new to this so i need a very indepth and easy guide. My friend upgraded my psp to 3.03 OE-C, lost touch wid him and now i need to upgrade, been told that 3.40 OE is best. i want this so i can play monster hunter 2 already bought the game, great game want it to continue. thanks in advanced.
