Taken from Dark_AleX all credit goes to the team.

Here we have it the universal unbricker maker for both 1000 and 2000 models of the PSP.

    Things you need:
    1.50, 3.40, 3.71 EBOOTs from
PSP Hacks · Hacks, PSP Downloads, Cracks, Mods, Homebrew, Utilities · Hack Sony PlayStation Portable

    Download Files without EBOOTs here

    Installation:

    - If you have already a pandora ms, don't do this part. Otherwise,
format an ms using c+d mspformat or any other tool that allows to move
partition to ~250kb from first sector

Remove ms, usb and connect again usb and ms.
    Make PSP and PSP/GAME dirs.

    - Copy despertar_cementerio to PSP/GAME/

    - Download 1.50, 3.40 and 3.71 update eboots and copy them to ms root with
    150.PBP, 340.PBP and 371.PBP names.

    - Use the app under a cfw with 2.x or 3.x kernel (be sure that kernel is
selected on recovery to the correct one (2.x or 3.x))

    - Once finished, u will have msipl.bin on root. If you already have a pandora
ms, you don't have to do this step (ipl doesn't changes lol), otherwise,
use c+d msinst to install ipl on ms; or use dd command from unix, or any
hex-edit program to write on sector 16 on the physical drive.

    - Now you can delete 340 and 150 PBP's, as they won't be used more; but 371.PBP
will be used for unbricker, so don't delete it.

    - Now you have an universal pandora ms ready to go, and you just need a proper
battery. If you have 1.50 kernel access, use c+d tool. Otherwise, use corly149 tool.

Battery and ms will work on all psp and slims to this date.

    De-bricking:

(On slim you won't see menu, remember that)

    - Press X to install 3.71M33. On slim (blind installation), you will see orange led flashing,
that means that 371.PBP is being written. When finished, orange and green leds
will be flashing, done artificially by the program to know that it's working.

On fat, once finished, you will have to press X to shutdown. Restart manually,
get BSOD, press O and you will be on 3.71m33.

    - Press O to install original 3.71 (rest of the process as the X option)

    - Press [] to dump nand to nand-dump.bin. When done, psp will auto shutdown.

    - Press L+R+HOME+start to restore nand from nand-dump.bin

This proccess is very dangerous, and you should *just* use it if it's your
last chance to get it working.

This is a physical restore process (not a logical one), and will try to make
a 100% exact clon of the dump.

If you are working with a dump that isn't yours, you will get either a brick
or a corrupt idstorage, depending on the firmware.

If while you are restoring your psp have got any damaged block more than
when you dumped it, you might also get a brick, depending on what block is it.

Works for both PSP and PSP Slim.

There you go everyone! Also includes installation of 3.71 M33

Don't mean to be dense, but this doesn't cover the creation of the battery , does it? Just the memory card, correct?
Perhaps a little tutorial that includes the universal unbricker + battery creation?

would that be the v3 of dark alex unbricker.. i know there is a first one which is v2 then he came up with v3 which install his latest 3.71 m33-2 instead of the 3.71 m33.. and on top of that it allows PSP SLIM user to do an install without being a BLIND INSTALL. meaning you can see the MENU like on the PHAT psp.

    cause you posted that
    **De-bricking:**

**(On slim you won't see menu, remember that)**

heres the C/p from another site:

    ======begin C/p=========================
Dark AleX's Despertar del Cementerio v3 - PSP Slim screen support, 3.71 M33-2 installation

Dark AleX has released a new updated version of the Despertar del Cementerio universal unbricker. This particular unbricker works for both the Slim and Fat models of Sony's PlayStation Portable handheld video game console.

According to Dark AleX, this new update is mainly to support the PSP Slim's screen in the mixed 1.50/3.40 kernel used during recovery. This is also a pretty big step towards 1.50 kernel support in the PSP Slim since the main problem - the screen - is now fixed. Here's a full changelog:

    * Coded a display driver that supports the psp slim screen in the mixed 1.50/3.40 kernel.
    * The M33 installation will install 3.71 M33-2, not 3.71 M33

The download's below. Please remember to read the bundled readme file before using this homebrew app. You can also hit the Visit link below to discuss this release on our PSP Development Forums

in regards to having 2 batteries would you just use one battery and 2 magic stick to unbrick.. reason i said 2 magic stick is one that has the original pandora unbricker that brings it all the way down to 1.5 and another magic stick that has the dark alex unbricker which only brings the psp phat and slim to kernel 3.71 of course on your magic stick you can just add the addon for the kernel 1.5 for the 3.71 m33 along with update m33-2 ..

    maybe i miss understood you?

Alrite, i have learned thru the hard way :

    1. Never try the universal thing on a psp which is already 3.71
    2. Delete all previous pandora files from mem and then run the V3
    3. And all worked well when i tried on the psp with 3.40 oea

So now i can unbrick both types of PSP only with 1 set of Pandora Batt + mem stick
    Cheers
