Yes, you're still able to install CF 3.71 for both Fat and Slim as long as you have Pandora.

    I have both.

Referring to the pic below..... The PSP on top running 3.71 that is mint and sitting in a crystal case is one I bought brand new as the entertainment pack a little over 2 yrs ago and paid $300 for (1gig + game + movie). It has the IC1003 motherboard in it. (aka-useless) I bought about $800 worth of UMD's for it when I first bought it and it has stayed in it's little glass case and it's retail box and has gotten very little use. I am stuck with it, too much invested. It's become a permanent fixture. At least it is still mint.

The one on bottom that looks like it has been through a war didn't even have a number on the motherboard in the normal spot, it's under the disk loader and says IC6001. I paid about $125 for it on ebay. I have modded the heck out of it (see sig). I think I'll hop on ebay and get a custom face for it.

So I get to see the updates AND play at the same time

You know that there is a way to make pandora without a CFW or 1.5 psp right? Just as long as you have a fat psp's battery. You can do it if you want but it involves a liitle desoldering.

lol I like the picture, one, and also it is new news to me that you can make a pandora without a phat psp

    *begins intently reading guide

WHAT THE HELL thats so simple... wow who needs the other way when you can do that in like 3-5 minutes.

although I can't find any possible explanation as to how that works. Maybe all making a pandora via the normal way does is disable that chip? That still doesn't explain why taking it apart wasn't the first way concocted as....gah stop talking to yourself demon

whoaa just started testing the method with one of my friends extra phat batteries (somehow he found a set of 5 on ebay for 35 buck lucky bastard) it is way harder than it looks in the instructions. So I give some tips that will help you not blow up the battery like I
did (so now I got another battery and owe him another 10$ for the dead battery)

    1. I blew up the battery while I was opening it. If you touch pretty much anything inside there with a screw driver it starts smoking and dies. Because of this, I suggest not using a screw driver but instead another non metal hard thin object. To lessen the chances of this rather quick demise of your battery I ran the battery out and then connected an led to it so it is totally discharged.

    2. ok so now it's open. I thought this time so I didn't blow it up but I suggest not soldering it off as the pins are way to close together and if you accidentally hit another pin it's game over. Instead I suggest using the thinest pin/needle and pop it off from the base or possibly you could use an xacto knife and probably snap it off

    3. I'm pretty sure it works on 3.71 as I've heard someone else mention it did

    4. if you want to turn it back to normal I suggest using the pin method I described and after your done with the pandora function use the pin to press the leg back into position
and it should make a connection (although it isn't fastened)

    hope this helps

Hey, you said you shorted out the battery and now its dead? Probably not. I found out that if you shorted out your battery and it no longer power up your psp then try and short it again by connecting the positve to the negative really quickly. Do it really really fast or it might blow up if you leave it to long. I know it sounds crazy but I found this from HERE and then I tried it and to my amaze it worked. So it might work for you . Then you wouldnt have to throw it away.

Try at your own risk though.
