11-09-2007, 02:03 PM l am running 3.40 oe which l managed to do with help from this site. l was wondering is there any point to go higher, if so can someone point me to a guide.

and there are a bunch of guides, look in the 'guide' section..

11-09-2007, 02:55 PM as dark stated having higher firmware is quite beneficial. you will have access to playing the newest UMD games and be able to play EMULATORS and PSX games.
11-09-2007, 03:32 PM Only reason to upgrade to newer firmware would be for newer released games or if there are new features (scene change, etc) in newer firmware that you'd like to use. 3.40 CFW already has pretty good support for PSX titles. As for emulators for other systems, you can do that even at 1.50. I still have 3.40* and I'm not upgrading until I encounter a game (emulated PSX or otherwise) I can't play on it.
