PSP Fat Firmware

I work at a game store (gamecrazy) and we have had these two fat PSP lying here for awhile, im eventually going to pick one up but I wanted to know if it matters what firmware they fat comes with. My plans are to be able to play PSX games and maybe N64. I keep reading about 3.52, what exacty is this, it believe its a custom firmware but im not sure.

3.52 is an official firmware, these are not good, you want a custom firmware, i.e. something like 3.52M33, if it is a 3.52 PSP then you need to downgrade to 1.50 then upgrade to a custom firmware

Oh I see, so does it matter what firmware the fat comes with? Or can I downgrade it to 1.5 no matter what firmware it comes out of the box?

you can downgrade it to 1.50 whatever firware, but you will need a pandoras battery to downgrade anything above 3.50, 3.50 and below can be diwngraded using lumines/gta liberty city

Cool, hopefully it has 3.5 or below, because ive got a couple of copies of lumines and GTA:LCS.
