After following the tutorial here, I was able to format my flash1 on my slim and continue on with installing 3.71 m33 using DC3. Upon completion I would boot to recovery mode and do a format flash1 and reset settings. By doing this my slim will boot with green power led but no output to screen and would eventually shut itself off. Is my slim a permanent brick ? Are there any other methods that might revive my slim ? Thanks in advance for any help, it would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your bricked again. I just did this method to my psp tonight and it works great!

Start over using your pandora's battery and unbrick as normal. If it is able to get past the Flash1 then you should be ok.

I am able to get past the Flash1 and the psp shuts down after I pressed X. I will then be able to boot the psp and get to the blue screen where all the languages are present and it's asking me to press O to reset the settings. Well when I get to this point I've tried two options. The first is to reboot psp and get into recovery and choose format flash1 and reset settings. This will bring me back to where I started from with a bricked psp. The second is to press and hold down O to do the reset and the blue screen. This option also brings me back to a bricked psp. By using either method my psp would not boot only green power light with no output to screen. The psp would eventually power itself down after a few seconds. The closest I've come to reviving it is getting it to the blue screen with all the languages. If any one have any other ideas I can try it would be much appreciated.

Hmm...it shouldn't take you to the BSOD (blue screen of death). Are you sure you're using the slim version of the pandora's memory stick?

    about leeishoms post...

"1. Backup your current magic memstick contents to your computer.
    2. Make a nand dump of your PSP in its current state & keep the nand dump safely on your PC. **IMPORTANT**
    3. Download nandTool 0.2 [*the url for download]
    4. Rename the nandtool_02.elf to backup.elf
    5. Copy this backup.elf to the kd folder on your memstick, overwriting the existing backup.elf
    6. Now go to the Universal Unbricker menu and choose the Make Nand Dump option. nandTool should start.
    7. In nandTool, there should be an option caller "Other". Under "Other" choose "Format LFlash".
    8. Now you can exit nandTool and use Universal Unbricker to unbrick. It wont freeze at formatting."

umm..i really need help...starting with number 6...i have no clue wut u mean by universal unbricker menu...n how is that gonna make nandtool start?...

    n also...in the file i downloaded...there is an eboot.pbp...whr shud i put it??..or shud i juz leave it?

also...i wud like to say that this is a very good tut even if its very little...its juz that im a noob n i dun understand...plz reply 2 me ASAP...

omg thank you so much leiss, after reading and following what you said it immediately got my slim working and was able to proceed to installing 3.71m33-2. however, to clarify for future readers: step 7 in the other section will say "repartition flash"

    Thanks again

    @Koolbrader:
first of all u need to have a magic memory stick preferably DCv3 assuming everything works up to that point, insert ur memory stick and hold L while inserting pandora battery. when the downgrader menu shows press [] to create a nand backup and save the file to ur pc somewhere.

as for step 6 and on its pretty self explanatory, there is no need to concern with the eboot or anything else. simply rename the nand2 file to backup and move the file to the kd folder on ur memory stick.

now place the memory stick back into the psp repeat the process for booting into the DC menu and press [] again to enter the nand menu and be sure to let us know if it works

I Love You Man! I have been trying to fix this thing for weeks! Everyone was telling me that flash1 couldn't be fixed. I was on my way to the store to buy a new one and I found this thread. You rock.
