    Hello,

Sorry ahead of time for all of the Noob question's i will be asking. I am getting a PSP for the first time and want to be able to mod it. I have read a bunch of forums and articles on the different ways. There seems to be a whoole lot of info so i cant really narrow it down to what i should do or how i should go about this. Can someone please let me know the easiest way of modding my new psp slim so i can play backups with the UMB and also get homebrew?

I read that Pandora's battery is the easiest way but sony has come out with new models that blocks this and i should look for a psp with the searial number on the bottom of the box. is this True? Any info that narrows down the best option for me to mod my PSP and sums up PSP modding (the process, pros and cons, bricking) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Anyone please correct me if i'm wrong...

As far as I know. the FAT 1000series and slim 2000series and pandora moddable.

The new PSP will be 3000series, this is the one that sony added hardware or something to it to block pandora.

So far i havent seen a PSP that Pandora didnt work on.

here is what it said on wikipedia about the psp slim....
There is a new revision of the PSP Slim motherboard, dubbed TA-085 v2, as opposed to TA-085. The newer motherboard revision only seems to have taken away the ability to create a Pandora battery, because it doesn't allow for battery EEPROM flashing. No other abilities have yet been discovered. It is unclear at this time, but the new motherboard revision began shipping with either firmware 3.72 or 3.73, as opposed to 3.60 of the original slim PSP version. There is a way of determining the motherboard version from the box by the location of the serial number. This only applies to North American units. If the serial number is on the bottom of the box, it would be the TA-085 motherboard. If the number is on the back of the box, it may be the newer TA-085 v2 motherboard.
Also, can any1 help me out with the other questions i asked in my first post in this thread?

PSPident is an application that runs on your PSP and tells what motherboard you have etc.

As far as I know please correct me if I'm wrong, but this should only come into conflict when you are soft modding someone's psp battery as you want be able to make a pandora battery using software
