    Hello everyone,

I was walking around the RECOVERY MENU of the firmware 3.52 M33, and suddenly one of these 'lag spikes' came up and I accidentally made it run the recovery. Since there was no recovery files on my memory stick, the PSP went blank and just stood there for 20 min. After that, I removed the battery, put it back on and tried to turn it on.

Blank screen. It's blank and nothing ever comes up. The memory stick light on the left keeps blinking (Even when there's no memory stick inside), so I think it's searching for some kind of file. Though if I keep pressing R at any period of its 'blankness', the recovery menu comes up. And I'm able to use the PSP normally by simply selecting EXIT on the menu.

So basically, for me to use my PSP I have to turn it on every time pressing R, open recovery menu, select EXIT and ta-da, we have it on. (PS: Sometimes when I turn it off the green light flashes a little bit)

My questions are ... Is my PSP Semi Bricked ? If so, should I download the RECOVERY FILES to my Memory Stick and execute the recovery for real this time ? If I update my 3.52 M33 to a 3.60 M33 / 3.71 M33 / 3.90 M33, should everything come back to normal as well ? If I update my PSP to a developer's version and then to a custom firmware, should that do the job too ?

    AND MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL:
If I don't want to take the risk of performing any of such operations, can I just leave the PSP as it is, in other words, If I ignore these issues and just use it is there a risk it might suddenly stop working one day ?

Oh, and a noob question. Once I make a PANDORA'S BATTERY I can't use it on my PSP for regular usage again ?

Did you hard mod it by removing a pin off of the board? If thats how you did it then yes you can resolder the pin back or simply bend it back down onto the board and the battery will go back to its normal function. I recently unmodded my pandora battery by doing that and it works perfectly. Be careful though because if you don't have a solid connection from pin/board you may have issues. I used a solder iron to heat up the pin then pushed it quickly so it was stuck in that position. Been using the battery for about a week now with now problems. Im going to pick up a psp phat battery for cheap and then pandora it so I always have a backup.

If I leave it as it is, there's no chance it bricks by itself right?

And can I make a pandora's battery and use it on multiple PSP's or does each 1 needs 2 have its own ? Is the battery's lifetime reduced if I used it for PANDORA and regular play?

There's no way it could spontaneously brick itself, but you'll still be better off reinstalling the firmware or updating to a new version. Any firmware installation other than minor updates (M33-2 and so on) will do a full re-flash, effectively restoring any modules that might be missing or corrupted.

You can use a single pandora's battery in any PSP. The battery itself is only needed to start the process, once the PSP is running in service mode you can plug it into the wall and remove the battery, and even move on to another one if you wanted.

If you're using a soft-modded battery there will be no change in battery life, as the only real change made is to the serial number stored in the beginning of the EEPROM. Hard-modded is another story, as the EEPROM is removed from the circuit and can no longer help to regulate charging. This can negatively affect battery life as well as safety when in use.

So I can use a Pandora's battery for gaming and restoring at the same time, glad to hear that =)

Is it possible to downgrade a 3.50 (ORIGINAL FIRMWARE) to 1.5 using pandora's battery ?

I heard you need a small-spaced memory stick. Mine is 4GB big . Is it going to work or not ?

Just curiosity ... how does a PANDORA'S BATTERY fixes a fully bricked PSP ?

Thanks guys you helping me a lot =)

Well, that's a full brick. Try to find someone with a PANDORA'S BATTERY or your PC has been destroyed.

A lot different from my problem ...
