Try redownloading the file?
I had the same problem. All I did was take it out and blow really hard, without spitting, into the memory card slot. From there on, no problems.
ok i tried blowin in the card slot! didn't help then i tried a new memstick still didn't help
tried formatted both memsticks still didn't fix it! any other idea's Besides i bought a F***ed Up PSP? (Its Still In Warranty)
Well, are your trying to update to CFW or OFW? If your trying to update to CFW, then no can do. You need to make a magic memory stick and a pandora battery to do so.
What are you trying to update from and to? Might be something as simple as a bad pbp or simply the wrong one.
Edit - written at the same time as above...
im tryin to update from 3.71 ofw to 4.05 ofw
i have tried to update usin pc to download the update file and i also tried to update usin network update on the psp
You can't jump ofw's, you have to do them in sequence.
you know where i can get the updates i need for a phat psp? i tried to install 3.72 firmware like 5min ago and got the same error but dk it it was the ofw for my psp!
Are you putting the update in the correct folder? it should be psp/game/UPDATE/UPDATE.PBP ...You can find most of them at dl.qj.net, or punch "official psp firmware" into google to get a link for a decent site with all of them.
ok it lets me start the update and all but once it gets to the installing screen the progress bar stays at 0% and gives me the error!
" The Memory Stick Can Not Be Read! Canceling This Update Could Cause Your PSP Not To Start! Make Sure the memory stick is inserted correctly and press x! "
should I go ahead and put in for an RMA?![]()
Network update may be different...At any rate, I've never had any luck trying to jump on OFW's. As for the OP, provided everything you've done is legitimate and correct, it sounds like you've got a problem - It's under warranty, take advantage of it now before it runs out.
