Which is the best custom firmware? All I want to do is, be able to download games for free from the internet and then be able to play them on my psp. Someone told me that 3.80 m33-5 is the best. He said that it will do what i want to do and that 3.80 m33-5 doesn't have many problems. is that true? or is another custom firmware do what i want it to do and have no problems?

REALLY APPREICIATE ALL OF YOUR HELP!!! PSP MOD IS THE BEST!!!

pretty much, 3.80m33-5 is one of the latest CFW that is pretty stable. If you want to talk about the best CFWs, a lot of people would most likely say 3.52m33-4 or 3.71m33-4. Just depends on what you like.

3.71 M33-4, 3.80 M33-5, and 3.90 M33-3 are the best ones. I tried to stay with 3.90 M33 for as long as I could but I messed some shit up and ended up going to 4.01 M33-2 and now some of my emus don't work. 3.90 M33 is it for me.
    Firmware History:
    fat: OFW up to 3.30 - Lumines - 3.40 OE-A - 3.71 M33 - 3.80 M33 - 3.80 M33-5 - Stolen
    slim: OFW 3.60 - 3.60 M33 - 3.80 M33 - 3.80 M33-4 - 3.90 M33 - 3.90 M33-3 - Broke - 4.01 M33-2 - BRICKED - 5.00 M33-6

4.01 M33-2 just came out. So if you have some emulators they may not work. Some will, some won't.

I'm going to take this in a different direction and say the best firmware is whatever version you decide is the best. It's pointless to ask anyone else because all you're going to get are countless divergent opinions, none of which are going to help you reach a decision.

True that. But if you were a nub and had no idea what a CFW was, it would help to get some feedback from people who already have it.

I don't believe there is a best firmware. Just upgrade to the latest so you can stay with the pack, rather than falling behind and asking for old themes or 1.50 kernel apps. Eventually 1.50 will be forgotten. Don't get attached to 1.50 apps. Plus, the later firmwares usually include something new.
