do you mean, when you boot up the PSP and hold R you get the recovery menu? Because you want that. it will allow you to change settings, and activate plugins, etc.

I have a question about the recovery mode. Is that for semi-brick psp and cfw below 352m33?? I have a Pandora and I thought it would be silly to use the Pandora to downgrade when I can just run the recovery mode. I had a semi-brick once and the recovery brought me back down to the 150cfw. So am currently at 401m33-2 and I still see a recovery program in the cfw. So I guess what I am trying to say is what is the recovery program good for if we have the Pandora?

He is saying when he had CFW 3.52m33, in his recovery menu he had an option to downgrade to OFW 1.50. I only used 3.52 to upgrade from 1.5, and then passed it. So I don't know much, if anything about it. But the Reocovery Menu is used to change many settings on your PSP, that you can't do on official firmwares. Flash0, 1, 2 and 3, for example, you can't edit on OFW, or if you aren't in the Recovery Menu on CFW. So basically, it makes it easier to operate/customize for anyone that uses it.
Thanks for the input, but thats really not what I was hoping for. Lets try it another way. There is a recovery menu and recovery program. In the recovery menu you scroll down three spots it says run program at psp/game/recovery/eboot.pbp. My questions is. is this for semi-brick psp and cfw below 352m33?? what use is this program if we have the Pandora? I have 401m33-2 and if for some reason i wanted to downgrade can i use the recovery program that is in the recovery menu to do so.. Some might say use the pandora. I say why would i want to use the Pandora when i can just use the recovery program. hope that helps. The reason for this question is I created a recovery folder in my psp game. psp/game/recovery and i put the eboot.pbp aka 150.pbp in the recovery folder and i get a blank screen when i run the recovery program and yes it turned on..
Never mind trying to answer this question.. I found the answer on qj.

help please. I can't get to the recovery menu! I hold R and turn my PSP on, but nothing. the reason i need the recovery menu, is cause every single one of my games all of a sudden says "the game could not be started" why?
if u read this thread u wouldve seen u need custom firmware to go into the recovery menu....u have 4.05, and official sony firmware, which has no recovery menu....in order to get custom firmware u need a pandora battery and a magic memstick
okay....um all i can say is that i needed the recovery menu because all of my games are suddenly freezing and now they don't even load. I get an error message that says the game could not be started...
why would you want to downgrade back to 1.50? i wouldnt mess with that, could probably brick my psp =[
I have a problem, I was trying to make a Pandora Magic Memory stick on my CFW5.01-m33 phat PSP, it said in the readme that i had to enable IPL as I had a newer cfw, long story short is my PSP dont boot now, I have access to the recovery menu....what do I need to put in the psp/game folder in order to make it unbrick itself? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

You can use Rain's Ultralite MMS Maker in my signature to make your MMS. Don't worry about the PSP not booting. Make that, and make a hard-modded Pandora battery, and you can unbrick it. If you don't want to make a Pandora battery, and can't get ahold of another PSP, then you can buy one from dealextremem.com. If you can get ahold of another softmodded PSP, then use OSPBT 1.6. Google it.
