Okay, until about two days ago, I didn't even have any idea that a psp could be hacked, much less all this cool stuff I see about emulators and changing the clock speed and what not. I got mine around when it came out, so it's the fat one, with 1.5 FW. But I'll be honest, alot of this seems over my head. But I'll try not to bother you all too much ^^

Now, after reading, I have a few questions I just haven't found the answers to. For one, do I need two batteries, or can I continue to use the pandora's battery? All the guides I've read call for a spare, but never say why. Also, do I need a USB cord for my psp? The reasons I see for it are to use the MS and the computer, but I have a slot on my computer for the MS, and can access it just fine like that. So would that work with modding my psp, or do I absolutely need the cord? If anyone could post some guides on changing FW, installing games, things like that, it would be much appreciated.

First off welcome to the forums. Secondly you could use two separate batteries which is recommend, yes you need a USB cord to connect your PSP to you PC so you could do everything properly, do not use the slot on your PC as it would not work. Hopefully this info helps out. Just PM me if you have anymore questions and again welcome to the forums.

you dont need to use a pandora kit at all since you already have 1.5 on your psp. you can just go to Dark-AleX - PSP Developer and download the upgrades to get custom firmware.

Even though you might have 1.5 you still need to have a pandora battery to install OFW to CFW. Just go to the guides section and read around. Make sure you pay close attention and take notes. I'd like to see anyone try to install CFW without a Pandora Battery.

Okay, so I found a usb cable, and I have the psp connected in usb mode. Now, about the pandora battery. If I turn my battery in a PB, will it still function as normal? Why would I need a second battery? Thanks for the quick responses, and welcoming me ^^

Yeah tom and mugen are right I just bought my PSP 3 days ago and already I'm playing 20+ .CSO backup games on it. I'm running 4.01m33-2 FirmWare.
And all I did was follow the Guides Seciton. I did utilize the 2 battery method just seemed simpler.

you cant use the pandora battery as a normal battery once it one. the only way to use it as a normal one is by reverting it back, and i think it would be much easier to just go and buy a cheap one instead.

You can actually use Time Machine to create and re-convert a pandora batt. I'm just suggesting that you buy a second batt, just in case something should go wrong, plus I've learned through experience that everything works better in two's.

Alright, I'm purchasing another battery in a few days, just in case. Can you tell me how to create and re-convert a pandora battery though?

This is what you'll need to get that done. Good luck. Just call me Mugen or NeS.

Okay, quick question. If I want to do that, can I follow it normally with a regular battery and MMS, and then make it a pandora battery and put it in?

Wait, dont do anything. I am pretty sure you DONT NEED A PANDORA MMS COMBO. I am 95% sure of it. Get in touch with Sinphaltimus, Darkfoxsniper or andromeda and double check.
