ok so here goes my story

so all i wanted was to get my ver. 4.01 psp to ver 3.90 m-33-2 and put the xbox 360 theme on there... and i think i just mest up my battery..

so i asked around these forums and they all led to the pandora and mem stick hack... i used the hercules guide in the guides section and i did what it told me to do i scratced the little gold line in the blue box, but now when i insert the battery in all it does is the power light stays lit and the screen is black... ok so i asked for more help and i downloaded dv7 and the rain mem stick full somjthig... and the 401 pbp. file... and i still cant get it to work..

all i really need is a step by step guide on how to get my ver 4.01 to go to cfw 3.90 m33-2 so if anyone knows what to do from wher ei left off or tell me what i did wrong that would be cool..

im pretty sure i did somthing wrong i got confused with the guides... i think

if you followed my rain mms thread it gives specific instructions to get the dc7 to properly work.but you have to hold L and install the 4.01 m33 on the menu that pops up before the battery will work normal again(i also explained that as well)

ok so this is what i did i download the file eboot renamed it to 401 pbp then i used the rain thing to make the magic mem stick, i got my adapter and i plugged it to the psp without the battey then i put the psp to usb mode, i chose the psp drive on the rain program then i chose the options of the l trigger and stuff then i created the mem stick... then what do i do now?

hold L trigger and put in pandoras battery.if you used the program right,it will show a menu to select from.select install 4.01 m33 at the top.then select the reboot or shutdown option it gives when done.if you did the program according to my instructions and then do that.it should work fine.your pandora battery will work as a normal battery after that.

4.01 m33-2 also plays all homebrew and stuff fine,so its not a bad deal

ok so did that and it didnt work , do i have tot format my psp mem stick?

format it on the psp, and when in rain also check the format memory stick box.

ok om gthis is so frustrating so i open the psp batteyr cut the little line near the 19 then i download the 401 pbp file then i download rain , then i run rain, i load up the 401 file, i plug my psp with ac adapter then i usb mode , then i make all adjustements to options, then i click magic mem stick , finisehed... then i shut down my psp, unplug the usb , holding the l trigger i put the battery backj on and wait for it to flicker with craxzy lights the somthing should pop up? i did that but nothig just litt green and blank screen, but the psp has the files in the drive... what am i doing wrong!!!!!!

maybe your memory stick is a fake also....search for how to tell if your memory stick is fake...i forget how since i have only bought memory sticks from fred meyers...

i tried this and it workked for me,you sure your holding l and keep holding l till the menu pops up.you also sure your pandoras working right,also dont have the ac adapter in while doing this or it doesnt read the battery

and did you reame the eboot to 401.pbp and not leave it as eboot.pbp as i also say

no its a brand new mem stick duo sony brand high speed .. its compatible and i bought it new its not a fake... should i rip the pin off on the battery

if the batterys starting normally then its not a true pandora.

if its starting but shows a blank screen but the power lights on,then somehow you followed my instructions wrong is L trigger isnt working.go into your root,open the tm folder and open config.txt.it should only have one line that reads L = and then the process to start the ipl bin

OMG I HATE MYSELF... i guess i did somthing wrong and somthing right.. the light turns on but black screen, i guess i just cant get to do the magic stick thing right... i hate not being able to do somthing that sounds so simple

no im guessing the battery part worked right... does it not working have anythig to do with me haveing official firmware 4.01 on my psp?

no it should work even on that,reformat your card and just select the mms,do not include the other optional stuff.see if that works

buddy... google search NextGen_MMS_v08.11.08 and make a mms out of that.

it sounds like your having the same problem i was.. my pandora battery was working but my mms files wernt being installed.

try the next gen its how i got to 4.01 m33

all the files you need for a downgrade are in this next gen package.
