I'm probably buying a God of War PSP bundle soon, and I need a little guidance here.

I have a low budget, so I don't really want to buy the already modded battery (In theory I'll mod my own battery and then fix it with the pencil) but first I need a few questions answered.

First off, I have no friends that have CFW'd PSPs, so I would need to 1. make my own pandora, 2. make my own memory stick, 3. install my own firmware, 4. rely on people here or other people online to help me with this.

    pspmod.com/forums/psp-hardware-guides/28839-easy-use-pandoras-battery-guide.html

I will be relying on that guide right there. Now about the God of War PSP, I've heard that it has the TA-085 v2 motherboard, BUT that it can still run the custom firmware. Though, what I have read is that you need Despertar V6, and if this is true, do I just download that and use that instead of the one used in the guide. Or is Dv6 installed completely different.

And with the God of War PSP, is there any chance that it wont work completely?

Last question, after I install the firmware I format the memory stick COMPLETELY right? Or do I just format it through the PSP's format menu.

Oops, forgot this one too, does the 4GB memory chip work? Or only 2gb?

    Thank you!

    EDIT:::

And right away do I install 3.71 or should I find updated firmware and replace that file? Or is it required to install 3.71 immediately.

ALSO, do I need the pandora battery in while making the magic memory stick? Seems like you want the normal battery in BUT I MAY BE WRONG

You will need to mod your battery, using that guide yes.

God Of War's are CFW capable for the most part.

You can use the magic memory stick maker in my sig to make a magic memory stick, and you should make that before the pandora battery.

And with that magic memory stick maker in my sig, any size memory stick pro duo will work as long as it's 256mb and above.

    Ahh! Thank you

What do you mean "for the most part?" Is there any chance it WONT work? If so can anyone recommend a model I can buy NEW that has a 100% chance of CFWing?

    Daxter, Star Wars.

    2 guaranteed cfw.

So is the god of war, but a few cases of the new new ones people said they didn't work.

Which is confusing considering most Madden's work too.

I'll just ignore that one... Number one shame on you for even posting on another persons forums. And number two, if you do try to outsource atleast make sure you're using a method that has the up-to-date way to mod a slim battery that doesn't destroy it

And as for bewood, I have another question for you (thank you for being so helpful by the way, I appreciate it).

I can't use the thing you linked to in your sig as I apparently don't have the admin password (I dont even think I ever set it, but when I try to run as admin using all the password I'd possibly use it wont let me?)

    Therefore I'll be using

    pspmod.com/forums/psp-hardware-guides/28839-easy-use-pandoras-battery-guide.html

And with that it says to put 3.71 on. Well, do I have to do 3.71 first, or can I just automatically put 4.01?

    Thanks once again

Well I guess without the admin password you're screwed.

And following that guide, I'd just stick to 3.71m33, because you can easily update to 4.01 after it's over.

I assume you mean your on Vista... (You can set the admin password and still have it auto login. That's how I set mine up.) The software in my sig on the Noob guide does work with Vista. Don't know about soft modding newer slim batteries or if that's possible. I hard modded a battery I bought from Wal-mart. (But I think Wal-mart stopped selling them). Don't know if that particular model has problems switching firmwares, but it is cheaper to get an older slim through 2nd hand gaming stores like EB Games and such. (Some non-major chains even have batteries that Pandora well.) I've made MMS sticks from 512Mb, 1GB, 2GB, and a 4GB stick before so size isn't important as long as it's a genuine Pro Duo (SanDisk makes the cheapest genuine stick I know of and NewEgg.com has the SanDisk for and excellent price. (54$ for an 8Gig)
If have more questions let me know.
