This tutorial is very easy. I know that there's a lot of application that can make your creation very easy but i made this tutorial to make it very simple and organize. I do not know if this procedure is right but i managed to make my own magic memory stick and service mode battery with this. This will install 3.71 M33-2 on your psp.
First of all, your PSP should be in CUSTOM FIRMWARE 4.01 M33-2 BELOW coz it can't create the service mode battery on 5.00 M33 and so that you don't need to hardmod your battery. Then download this pack.
MediaFire - Free File Hosting Made Simple
Extract it to Drive C: for easy access.
then follow these steps..

Formatting Memory Stick:
1. put the mspformat folder (found in Part A folder) and msinst folder (found in Part C folder) on your Drive C:.
2. format the memory stick on your psp (go to settings->system settings->format memory stick).
3. format the memory stick again by using mspformat. after formatting, open cmd or command prompt. type "cd\" (without the quotations) then hit enter. you should be on Drive C: directory now, the text on the command prompt should be like this -> "C:\>".
4. type "cd mspformat" then hit enter.
5. then type "mspformat.exe X" (X being the drive letter of your PSP) and hit enter. type "Y" and hit enter again.
6. wait until it is finished and exit cmd/command prompt (it should say format completed and partition moved).
7. remove your memory stick (while in usb mode) and put it back again. your memory stick should have no files in it or empty in short. (if you'll not do this, your magic memory stick will not work.)
8. congratulations! your memory stick has been formatted!

6. now, type "msinst.exe X msipl.bin" (X being the drive letter of your PSP) and hit enter.

I am having problems on converting my battery to service mode using pan3xx on 5.00 m33 so i searched on the net on how to do it without using the pan3xx. So i ended up using OSPBT by Cory1492. For people who are having a hard time too, use this application if the pan3xx won't work.
Pandoras Battery (Using OSPBT on 5.00 m33):
1. Download OSPBT (Open Source Pandora Battery Tool by Cory1492) Here: MediaFire - Free File Hosting Made Simple
2. copy the ospbt folder and paste it into your GAME5XX folder (ms0:/PSP/GAME5XX).
3. run it on your game menu.
4. press X to proceed to the main menu.
4. select Convert to service mode (aka: Pandora's Battery).
5. if it's a success, your battery's serial should change to "0xFFFFFFFF".
6. exit ospbt.
7. congratulations! you now have Pandoras Battery or Service Mode Battery!

dude...
command prompt is t3h l33t!!!!11!!!1!111!!!
My PSP slim is currently at 5.00 M33-3, can i use (safe?) the pan3xx application to change my slim battery to pandora?
thanks for the tutorial...
no. 6 under magic memory stick should read "msipl.bin" instead of "mispl.bin".
I know im still new here but what is the point of making a pandoras battery when u already have custom firmware same with mms?
I ran the OSPBT on my PSP slim 5.00 M33-3 and it report the version is not supported. Do you speculate that they will make a version compatible with 5.00-m33-3? Is there something that changed drastically in 5.00 M33-x firmware that these tools incompatible?
Thanks for the tutorial.
