11-30-2008, 10:33 PM I currently just bought a used PSP from game stop. Its a older "Phat" edition. I choose it because i figured it would be easier to hack.
Info:
Current Firmware: "Version 5.02"
Model: "PSP 1001"
Motherboard: "TC1003"<I think, I was looking for text on the board from the Door of the UMD
What i am Trying to accomplish is havin a fully custom PSP, and I was wanting to be able to hack some games if one day i choose to. but where do i start, I have heard about people bricking their PSP's and I really dont want to do that. So please point me in the right direction

You're gonna need to make a Pandora battery in order to put the PSP in "service mode". Once you accomplish this, you just need to make a magic memory stick and you're set.
11-30-2008, 10:51 PM do i need to downgrade from 5.01?
Im using the MMS Maker, I think that i will use 4.01 but i want to know if i have to downgrade
Also, After doing the mod to the Batt. To make a PANDORA batt. DO i have to change the Batt back or no?

12-01-2008, 07:18 PM Create a MMS and a Pandora Battery. With these two you can get Custom Firmware on your PSP.
Afterwards you can change your Pandora battery back to normal if you want to.
