After you install the pandora battery and the screen goes blank - install the MMS and click the x button. Wait for the indicator lights on the left of your psp to stop flashing - then restart... If that does not work you need to make a new MMS....

I'm pretty much stuck with placing some custom firmware on a psp slim.
I have a slim with official firmware 3.95 and I am trying to put on 4.01 m33-2. I'm using the Rains Simple MMS and these are my following settings:
1. Select Firmware 4.01/M33-2
2. Load 401.pbp file
3. Select PSP Drive
4. Tick Format Memory Stick
5. Tick USB Version Fake thing
6. Leave (L) as Default for pandora trigger
7. Select inject IPL only --> Could this be the wrong setting ????
8. Click Make MMS
After this is finished, I take it out of usb mode and shut off the psp. I take out the original battery and place my finger on the (L) trigger and then place the pandora battery in keeping hold of (L). A green light comes on and the screen is black ???? nothing happens ?????
Any help please guys ??

Not sure... I tried to use my slim Pandora battery in a phat before and it didn’t work (Had the green light)… So it’s possible that the phat battery will not work in a slim... Hopefully someone else can help you further…

Yeah i suspect the battery has somthing to do with it but just as a thought try holding down to right button when inserting the pandora battery and see if you get to the custom firmware screen if not i would say get a slim battery and give it a go.
i think its your battery. just make it normal again, u probably put it in the psp when u modded the battery
