Hi, first post on here. I've been mostly reading these forums.

So here's my problem: I'm helping a friend get cfw onto his psp. When I install using an mms and pandora, i get this PSAR error. I've searched long and hard to fix it but never could.

But, I can install m33 3.90 fine. So I put a 4.01 upgrade file in which I can run right from the PSP. And I can upgrade the firmware to 4.01 fine. Next, I would do the same thing with m33 5.00-6 and it would go through with the install but after it restarts, it freezes in the beginning of the XMB, every time. It freezes right when the clock and battery meter is fading in.

Also, in 4.01 games keep showing up as "Game could not be started". I've tried setting the driver to m33-no umd mode (and the other modes), i've tried switching between the 1.50 kernel and 4.xx kernal modes in recovery mode and neither work.

It's a phat psp, TA-82. I'm using my own modded psp to make the pandora and mms. I've modded a few other friend's psps but this one is giving me a lot of trouble. I've tried redownloading 500.pbp a few times and that hasn't helped. I'm currently using rain's ultralite mms to make my mms but i've tried a few others already.

Does anyone have a solution to get games running in 4.01 or getting it to upgrade to 5.00?

    Thanks

Well, I finally got games to work in 4.01. I played around with the advanced settings in recovery mode. But i'm still curious as to why 5.00 freezes after I update to it.
