Hey there, i want to install custom firmware on my friends 3.93 OF psp. There arent any downgraders released for that firmware, so i want to upgrade the firmware, then downgrade. Any downgrader will do, preferably the easiest to use. Whats the best firmware to upgrade to specifically for downgrade purposes?

If and only IF you are sure that its 3.93 you can try using the ChickHEN....and then hellcat's recovery flasher from my sig to go to cfw..without pandora..downgrading sucks...
If you try using HEN+Hellcat's recovery flasher on 88v3 OR A 3k YOU ARE SCREWED.SO PLEASE DONT TRY IT.

+1, except you have to upgrade to 5.03 first to use chickHEN

It doesn't...there are NO downgraders for any firmware above 3.50..for those higher then that you need Pandora's Battery and that only works IF it's a hackable PSP.

No downgraders, but if he upgrades to 5.03, applies the HEN he can run hellcats and go straight to CFW. But ONLY on PSP's that could be hacked by Pandora. If it's a 3000 or TA-088v3, it still won't work.

Well yes and no..don't try to run Recovery Flasher on a TA-088V3 or a 3k as it will brick due to the Pre-IPL crap.
