    It seems that no matter what I do it will not boot. I've been looking on here and youtube and other places for 2 days now trying to get it to work.

    I have a PSP-1001, 5.03 OFW

    I've tried:
    1, using the eggsploit.tiff by itself in the psp/photo folder
    2, Eggsploit with random jpegs in psp/photo folder
    3, eggsploit in psp/photo folder and 14 copies of it in ms0:/picture folder
    4, changing the char set to latin1
    5, setting to default settings
    6, turning off auto UMD

    No matter what it just won't work. It will do one of the following

    1)freeze when thumbnails load in menu
    2)display all Tiff thumbnails but when selecting one to view full size it will display it and then freeze

    sometimes it will show the orange MS light come on when it freezes, sometimes it won't.

    I've watched videos and it looks easy, and many many posts I have read here say maybe a couple times to get it to work and everyone endorses it.

    why am I having such problems?

    it will work eventual.format your ms then put the recovery folder(the one that contains hellcat`s recovery flasher) in the game folder.put the eggsploit in the X:/PHOTOS and the h.bin in the root of the ms.boot your psp annd go to the photo section it will freeze a lot of time before it works (cuz it`s vary unstable)whit me it took like 50 times or more but when you see the screen start flushing in green you have sucesfully installed ChickHEN and can now update to full CFW using the hellcat`s recovery flasher
    First PSP2k : OFW 5.03 --> CFW 3.72M33-1 --> CFW 5.00m33-4 --> 5.00m33-6 --> 5.02 GEN-A -->5.50 GEN-A --> broken screen --> sold
    Second PSP2k : OFW 4.01 --> 5.03 --> ChickHEN R2 --> CFWEnabler 3.60 --> 5.03MHU

    I don't see a UMD cache option in my settings list. only UMD auto start.

    Also

    i am puttin the h.bin in ms0:/ (no folder), but i have a folder called MP_ROOT, should it be in there instead?

    My Tiff image is in ms0:/PSP/PHOTOS, should i have a folder like ms0:/photos instead that it should be in?

    oh and one more thing, should I have to actually select the image to get it to work or should it load when the tumbnails are loading or will it work either way?

    I just tried it again, the first two tries it froze when loading the thumbnail for the tiff image, and on the 3rd try it displayed it and didn't freeze till i actually viewed the image.

    I've had problems with it at first.... I found that it works better with a 1Gig stick and original theme... All custom themes seem to prevent the HEN from functioning correctly... Now the HEN works the first time every time……………

    Try:

    Restoring Default Settings first

    then..

    Turn PSP ON.

    Put into sleep mode

    Turn back on and scroll to PHOTO and press X on MS Icon...don't press anything else..has worked EVERY TIME for me..

    I too have a PSP-1001 and haven't had it boot into ChickHEN. And frankly, I've become extremely skeptical about this truly working on every PSP, since a lot of the people here like to exaggerate and dramatize. I feel like I'm on The Truman Show and you're all just screwing with me.

    I'm going to reformat and use DarkFox's method and see if that really does anything. This'll be a while, since I have 1,400 files on the MS and it's under FAT which doesn't have indexing.

    Alright, you're all full of crap.

    Restored default, reformatted, changed MS's reformatted again, followed DarkFox's method, plugged, unplugged everything, the two files everywhere, and absolutely nothing.

    Edit1:
    Okay, I've got it running now. (And it did work the first time) I did a combination of DarkFox's method again and my own. After doing all of the above, I can now do it. PSP firmware settings seems to be the biggest issue. Restore factory settings, and it should work.

    Thanks, Fox.
    Edit2: I'm now at the Recovery screen.

    hey guys, I've tried all of these methods and I still can't run the chickhen, when I press X on the ms in photo I see the eggsploit image but when I click on it it just freezes and it restarts my psp, I've restored default settings, formatted my memory stick and it still doesn't work :S
