    My psp is not hacked.
    It is a 2001 model.
I ordered and am waiting for my Pandora Battery to arrive in the mail.
I am currently at fw version 3.71.
I just bought a retail copy of loco roco and when I insert the umd cd it says I need to upgrade from fw 3.71 to 5.02.
    Should I?
Will this hinder my ability to use the pandora batt when it arrives - to enable the homebrews?

it wont hurt anything as long as you PSP is hackable than u can go to what ever FW u want and still be able to install CFW cause the pandora battery puts the PSP into service mode and allows u to flash to what ever OFW or CFW u want ive downgraded a 2000 model from 5.03 to CFW before

    Thx for the reply Korn
I'm just concerned about what rustyrobato93 is saying in this thread.

Is he mistaken? I hope so, because my Daughter is really aching to play rocoloco and the wait for the battery will be hard for her. I just don't want to end up with a unhackable slim 2001.
The slim 2001 with fw ver 3.71 does have a hackable motherboard, correct?

ya i dunno what his issue was i had OFW 5.03 on my PSP slim (silver 2000 series) and down graded using the pandora battery (thick battery) just fine i wouldnt be to concerned i dont think but if ure doubting it it might be better off just letting it be its ure choice

and yes any slim model that has lower than 4.01 OFW out of the box is hackable

out of the box means as if brand new if it has 4.01 on it out of the box that has a TA-088v3 mobo and is unhackable thats y i said before 4.01 out of the box if u buy a referb u need to know what to look at physacly on the PSP itself aside from the OFV v as it may have been updated or w/e

robato clearly doesn't know what hes talking about.

Using the pandora method, all 1000's are hackable, and all 2000's are hackable as long as they do not have the TA-088v3 motherboard. The firmware DOES NOT MATTER with this method.

The only time the firmware matters is with EXPLOITS i.e. the ChickHEN method being used to enable homebrew on 5.03.

Anyone who says different, is wrong.
