Hack a PSP 3000 w/ver 5.5?

I'm new to the whole PSP thing, bought mine yesterday, and after setting everything up and installing updates, the internet informed me it was possible to hack it to play ISOs. After some research I found that there is something about version 5.5 that would make it hard to do this. Is there a way I can hack it to play ISOs (perfectly legitimate i assure you), even though it has version 5.5?

1. the psp3000 is not hackable
2. if u had 5.03 u could have used ChickHEN, which lets u play homebrew, no isos

so, psp3000 w/ 5.50, ur pretty much stuffed

Oh, would it be reasonable to assume it will be hacked in the future, or no hope for ISOs? If no hope, I could always return it and get a 2000 somewhere.

it would be possable, just not anytime soon, and even if you do trade in, chances of geting a hackable slim is 50/50

I found some good condition, used 1000's on Amazon for ~$100. Think I should go for that then? How inferior is the 1000 to the 3000, enough to deter me from buying?

1000: 32 mb ram, 1.5 kernal compitable, 100% hackable.

2000: 64 mb ram, not 1.5 kenal compatible, 50/50 shot of hackable slim, (do i need to mention TV out) a spechal editon psp slim is hackable

3000: same as 2000 just not hackable.

make your choise from there

Thanks mate. I think 32mb is a modest enough sacrifice for a fully hackable unit.

I have a 1001b and it works awesome with 5.00 m33-6 and with the 1.5k addon it assures me that i can play any homebrew out there..(except the really old shitty homemade stuff).... the psp2000 is awsome if you use the internet alot (netfont browser) or if you want to play on your tv

if you get a slim that just so happens to be not hackable there is still a way to play isos you know, so you could take the chance if you want
