Just got a PSP 1000, what should I do?

I bought a PSP 1000 from a friend of mine. It currently has official software version 1.5 on it. It also has a program called Devmod on the MS which runs some games, but I think it is out dated.

I have read the forums on custom firmware, but got a little lost on whether i should install it or not.

I mainly want to play PSP games on it that I have downloaded, what do u think my best course of action should be?

This forum does not support piracy. There are guides to advise how to use Hellcat's recovery to install 5.00 m33-4 and upgrade to m33-6.

Sorry I did not know. They are for games I already own and I want to just put them all on my MS.

Here is the link to Hellcats Recovery Flasher 1.60. Run it, and it will put 5.00 m33-6, which is the newest cfw.

Yeah, ive never done it but i think you should just be able to run the 5.50 OFW update. There is also probably some program that will do it.

Just tried to install Hellcat's Flasher 1.60 with 401.pbp and 371.pbp, but no luck. Tried another Hellcat's version, but that did not work either. I keep getting the error "The game could not be started(80020001)". I tried it with a UMD game in and without. Im running OFW 1.5

About to give up, any advice?

Are you using the folders FOR 1.50?

you have to run the 1.5 version it has a % in its name

No, I actually wasnt using them thanks. Do i place the 1.5 folder in the RECOVERY folder?

No you place the __SCE__rflash and %__SCE__rflash folders in GAME.
