Lets say i have a new "phat" PSP and i connect it into my PC with a USB to mini-USB cable... The PSP also includes a memory card of 2GB.

Now lets say that i upload the UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP file to my game folder and i start it from the recovery mode. Will thiswork and install the CFW on my PSP safely?

I do not have my PSP yet and i want to have some confirmation from experienced people.

I did use google to search, No usefull information found.

    Please answer.

You cannot put CFW on the PSP using just a normal update. You'll need to follow either the ChickHEN r2 method and use Hellcat's, or you'll need to go through the Pandora and MMS method. If you buy a phat, check the firmware before going forward. You'll want 5.03 or lower. If you get that, then just use the ChickHEN method. It's very simple and cheaper than buying or modding batteries.

    Thank you for replying.
I've found a video on how to do it.
I will do it that way:
(Can't post URL's yet.) YouTube - PSP CUSTOM FIRMWARE 5.00M33 WITHOUT PANDORA (NOOB FRIENDLY)

    Another question:
    Does the v 5.00 M33-4 allow ISOs?
They aren't pirated, i just ripped them off my old PSX games. (Which i bought a long time ago)

Yes, but once you get 5.00 m33-4, go to network update and update to 5.00m33-6, its more stable.

Just so you know.. you dont play PSX games as ISOs. You convert them to eboots which the PSP can read.
