I think I have a easy question

To all the haters lol , Ive tried to search and dont know if my question is getting answered cause Im new to this , i picked up a second hand psp im thinking its hackable cause the serial on the box starts with ab00911090* , i couldnt find anyother way to verify . But here is my question , the person I receieved it from updated the firmware to 5.50 , so i dont think chichhen will work on it , can I use pandora ? It said "Is my PSP hackable?
A. At the moment PSP 1001 (Fat) & 2001 (Slim) with firmware 5.02 or below is hackable. Please note that firmware 5.03 or above on all PSP's are unhackable. Also note that the PSP 30001 is yet to be hacked as well." is this just a indicator that psp shipped with firmware 5.03 are new motherboard ? Or am i screwed till there is a way to bypass 5.50 ? Im thinking I can just pop in pandora and flash right ? i appreciate every ones input

okay, not quite sure what you're getting at, but here for teh phat you can install cfw using the chickHEN and recovery flasher method here are the links

recovery flasher- File Details-Recovery-Flasher-v1.60-PSP -
you will also need the 5.00 ofw eboot to get cfw, but use google to find it, as for the slim the same method should work, but make sure its hackable first because if its not and you try to flash using hellcat's then you have permabrick
EDIT: Oh and you'll need to be at fw 5.03 if you're not there do not use the network update if you are above then you will need a pandora and mms no other way

this is a psp 2001 , i think the motherboard is hackable but it has firmware 5.50 , Because its updated with 5.50 does that make it unhackable right now? Or can I use pandora battery method ( iprefer that method )

you will have to use pandora, if its hackable then there won't be a problem just install and go, if its not then there won't be a problem either because the pandora and mms will do nothing to it or for it

Well u can downgrade if its the right model... or install the GEN-A CFW 5.50 .... im currently running gen-a 5.03 so i dont know if the 5.50 works or what the deal is... but its a idea


EDIT: scratch the downgrade part.. i saw u have the 2001 model after i posted :P.. but google GEN-A 5.50 and study that maybe it will help

you cannot downgrade 5.50 on any system (except if its a hackable psp and you have a pandora and mms) as for 5.50GEN A you must already have cfw then update to that

DO NOT TRY GEN-A UNTIL YOU ARE SURE IT IS NOT A TA-88v3 other wise you will BRICK YOUR PSP. don't give him advice like that he might actually end up bricking it.

Get a Pandora battery just to make sure you don't have a ta-88v3 there is another way to find out but is not even that reliable so just get pandora battery and make a magic memory stick then try it on your psp. If the psp turns on with the green and orange light then it works and it is installing CFW, else the psp won't turn on AT ALL and that means you cannot hack it as of now

5.03 GEN A will not affect hackable systems, I believe this gent should check my signature to make sure you have a hackable psp

that is why i said not to use it unless he KNOWS he has a mobo below 88v3... and is not that easy to actually figure it out manually, so if he goes and use Gen-A and it turns out it is a TA-88v3 then oops brick time

yeh, pandora an magic memory stick for firmware 5.50. anything lower use chickehen and hellcats recovery flasher. if you are on firmware 5.50 on the 3000 then your stuck. wait for a new exploit.
