hacking a version 3.95? READ INSIDE

hey guys im new to hacking psps
(but catch on easily good with kinds of stuff)

i just need to know should i update to the newest one then
start all this hacking stuff or stay on 3.95? (i have the oldest psp) bought it at release

also can someone post me a link or something to a tutorial on custom firmwares...
and one more question if i custom firmware my psp after that i can download all those psp games and etc on it right?

please do not talk about downloading games, its prohibited on the site, read the rules my friend,u can use pandora method if you have one

but i found my other psp phat running version 2.71
will that be easier to hack or the same steps as danos gave me
