I have a PSP-2001, with serial AB02 and OFW 4.01. I've read through a few guides and threads and it seems that it MAY be hackable in the future. I just wanted to know if it's safe to upgrade to 5.03 with the prospect of it being modded in the future. because I...I....I'm ashamed to say it.....I BOUGHT a game and it needs my firmware to be upgraded to 5.03.

    Thanks

buying a game is not only good, but encouraged, but yes you should update because then you can use chickHEN and cfw enabler v3.6 and get near all the features of m33

Well I'm a university student in debt so I'm trying to save some money by limiting the amount of games I buy until I get my psp modded, hopefully.

    Thanks for your help!

ocean spray using cfw enabler (it will work on your mobo) you can get most of the features of m33 including ISO support

I haven't touched my PSP in a while. Now that I have free time, where can I get CFW enabler? Any manuals or guides I can follow?

Edit: I also read somewhere before that I shouldn't use Hellcats recovery on my mobo TA-088v3.

Edit edit: I've figured it out myself. Am I able to play cso's too? And in what event can my psp be bricked?
