What Firmware came pre-installed on your PSP? If Firmware Version 4.01 and higher came pre-installed, your PSP is currently un-hackable.

and by the look of it it had OFW 3.71

There is no other way; end of the story.
The other one's firmware was below 5.03, which is hackable.
5.51 is NOT HACKABLE period

Actually, 5.51 IS hackable. Including on the 3000. It's a relatively new method, I made a thread. You need Medal of Honor: Heros; it's an exploit.

Yeah, but we haven't seen any real use of it yet.
Maybe semi-hacked is a better term in this case.
