Alright, I really haven't touched my psp's firmware since I hacked it with 3.71 M33-4 and its about time I upgrade to the latest firmware. I've seen 5.00m33 and 5.50 gen a and b. Which one is more stable and usable? Secondly can someone point me in the direction of a guide to upgrading? And any advice you can pass my way. Thank you.

    For stability and usability 5.00m33-6.

Gen has the ability to play some of the newer games that require 5.50 ofw and is able to get on the psn network, but it's having compatability issues with Emulators and some homebews.

If you want to upgrade to 5.00m33-6, Download this PSP Downloads | Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-6 Update and extract the "UPDATE" folder to your Psps game folder, from there run it from your Memory stick in the xmb.

You place the entire update folder in your Game folder. It'll look like this: ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP

replace ms0 for your Memory sticks drive letter.
