    Hi there,

    I got a PSP 1000 (FAT) with custom Firmware on: 3.02 OE-A.
It has been working fine so far.
When I installed GOW (customer, no UMD CSO file) - the game cannot start anf giving mea a message "the game could not be started (80020148)|
I searched around internet sites and so far could not understand the "cure" for this issue - is my Firmware too old? Is it a bad file (I understand this is a common issue with GOW)

Will appreciate your advice, I really want to play this game

    Thanks

You need at least 3.80 firmware to play GoW: hXXp://www.advanscene.com/html/Releases/dbrelpsp.php?id=1384]db psp release 1384 - God of War - Chains of Olympus

Once you get to 3.71 M33, just use hellcats recovery flasher to go straight to 5.00 M33-6.

dude, stick to one thread when asking about your problem. people do want to help you, just don't keep honking your horn when we've already heard you.

I played gow on 3.52 M33 back when it came out. You need a newer firmware build than what you have to play it.

Stylemo » Blog Archive » How to Install 3.52 M33-4 on Your PSP

Step two will install 3.52 m33 which I know will run gow, you don't need to do the rest of the steps if you don't want to. The rest is just to get your firmware to 3.52 m33-4. It gives you a download with all the steps in their own folders so it's not hard at all. Since you'll already have the necessary files for m33-4, might as well do the whole thing I guess.

Then if you want to go to 5.00 M33-6 Just use this one.

    File Details-CFW-5.00-M33-6-PSP -

    with

5.00 Official PSP Firmware PSP Downloads

I used these two guides just the other day without a single problem, everything worked perfectly.

    Thanks for all the replies:

    2 questions:

    1) Is it OK to install the 3.52 M33-4 streight on to of 3.02 OE-A? (In the guide it says to install as update of 3.40 OEA? Should I go through some downgrade/upgrade to 3.4 first?

    2) In order to install the 5.00 M33-6, I understand I need the official + the custom FW downloaded? Does the downlowad include step by step instrction how to work them both?

    Thanks again !!!
