    Good, then read this

XGEN Updater: upgrade your PSP directly to CF 5:50 GEN-B2 - DCEmu Forums:: The Homebrew & Gaming Network ::

apparently, you can update your current firmware, phat or slim, m33 or gen DIRECTLY to GEN-B2

Hope this is of some use to people, as a lot of new games are needing gen to work from mem card :-)

I used this a few days ago for a friend, And it kept the old 5.50 GEN-A VSH Menu, I dont know why. So I figure its better updating without it

I try to do it, and it shuts down the PSP while attempting to load the Sony Updater on my slim.

Anyone know where I can find 5.50 OFW?

EDIT: Found the 5.50 OFW. Seems to have installed nicely.

Glad I finally updated my cfw from 5.00 M33-6 to 5.50 GEN-B2 full yesterday by using the direct approach instead of updating from GEN-A and GEN-B. Works great!

Thanks, nice tool - after reading the info which explains how it can convert any PSP from any FW/CFW with any kernel, it then says at the bottom of the download page"Requires official firmware 5.50".

    What does that mean?

*Edit* I guess you have to update to OFW5.50 first?

NO! actually, you download the OFW from the sony psp site, then poot it at the root of your memory stick, then rename it from EBOOT.PBP to 5.50.PBP.

OK - Thanks very much! After I do that, I run the updater and it uses the pbp file?

Agh- I just realised that I double posted this somehow Sorry!! When I clicked post and refreshed, it didn't appear so I posted it again but I can't find that post now.

Yup, So, after you put the 5.50.PBP put the UPDATE into your PSP>GAME>then paste, then safely remove your PSP from your comp. then run the x gen updater, then, choose yes, then flash install 5.50 GEN B-2, take note, if you look at the system info, it shows 5.50 GEN B(full) but it's actually the B-2, and also don't forget to press select then choose the driver, which is m33 driver to run the iso/cso of your GEN patched games, for example, the GT, Undead Knights, and the NSAR(Naruto Shippuuden Akatsuki Rising) Enjoy
