I have a PSP Fat and was running 3.52M33 and wanted to upgrade to a newer version but it told me i had to upgrade to atleast 3.52M33 -3 so i chose -4

The upgrade went fine and it said it finished and to hit X to shut down. After it rebooted it was bricked.

I can access the Menu by holding R trigger that says the update failed becuase of some site giving me bad update files but I got them here. It says to put a recovery file in a certain folder and it will boot to it. So i do and I get the initial 3.52M33 installed So it says but it reboots to go right back to the blank screen where it turns off after 5-10 seconds.

I do not want to purchase a pandora battery if i dont have to. I have the ability to boot files so what can i do?

Haha..thats an OLD ass problem that M33 made a part of that update due to some assholes modifying the update and distributing it(Was before Pandora).Anyway do this:

    ms0:/PSP/GAME/PS3NEWS_ARE_STEALERS_A_AM_NOT_GONNA_VISIT_THEM/EBOOT.PBP

Can't remember what EBOOT.PBP it's supposed to be..this it's the UPDATE to go to 3.52 M33.Next time get the Updates from a more reputable site.

Yea I already have the EBOOT in that folder.. Is there a special EBOOT that will recover this for me? I have the eboot that launches the M33 recovery menu in there right now but I have had no luck getting anything to run properly. I have tried to get other cfw to flash from there but it wont...

Here are some other forums i am on with more info on what i have tried already.

The main one with most i have tried.

WOW a URL restriction to 15 posts? Give me a break...

Here it is.. replace the [dot] with the obvious.

honestly, you may have to suck it up and get a hold of a pandora battery...none of the obvious resolutions are working for you and this is why i have 1 and a magic stick.

When I hold R and start the psp i am taken to a screen that says the update failed because the file(s) were corrupt because I downloaded them from the wrong people. It tells me to make a folder named PSPNEWS_ARE_STEALERS_I_WILL_NOT..... and place the eboot i want to boot in there.

When i do this and run the recovery flasher it says that it cannot run on anything less than 2.71 --- BUT I was running 3.52M33 before I tried the update and it did this.

Why would it be doing this?

Yea i was hoping to not have to... Hold out and see if maybe someone has ties to the M33 team who might be able to explain why this happened. Cant believe an official CFW team would purposley make their CFW briock a psp for any reason.

You had it on the 1.50 kernel in Recovery Menu before this happened.

Your PSP is not bricked it's just sort of in a standby mode where you can't access anything till you agree to the terms.

    Download this:

    http://exophase.com/files/psp/3.52M33.zip

Place the M33 Creator in that directory and run it then place the resulting M33UPDATE(Should be in PSP/GAME) in that directory. It should work just fine.
