Is it possible? I just got a 3000, and am wondering if this is possible. I have a copy of firmware 5.03 (ofw)

Thanks... I shouldn't have gotten so hasty with my new psp.. I was aware it may not be possible yet. I bought it with 5.02 3 days ago. I double checked, my FW is actually 6.10. I'm so screwed lol.

    Also:
if I have a hacked PSP, that means I can't access PSN store, correct? So I'll be pretty much forced to download my games if it was hacked?

nope, not true...you can access psn as long as you're on 5.50gen-B2 (the latest cfw and only 1 that accesses that)

Well that's good to know. On the weekend I had download Undead Knights from PSN on my PS3 (before I had a PSP) and when I tried to install it, it said I needed FW 6.00 to play it. With CFW, I wouldn't be able to play this, right?

Any idea on when a new CFW is coming out for 6.00 or 6.10?

Doesn't matter if it does, you still wouldn't be able to run it.

see that now, i don't know...i don't own a ps3 and don't know about how it goes with transferring the games like that...

it's totally legal what you're doing, so i could suggest if it's an iso image how to make it work on your psp (again, i don't know how the files come and switch around to the psp and all, sorry)...but in the general section, there's a sticky on how to get games requiring 5.55/6.0 ofw to work on 5.50gen-B2, so check that out in the meantime...

sorry i couldn't give you more insight, maybe someone else will chime in with better info

edit: killer gave your answer as i typed this lol

Killer, can you elaborate on that a little? If they find an exploit, then I can get CFW. So why are you saying that I won't be able to run CFW 6.00 or 6.10 if it does come out?

Well that is what i mean, if CFW 6.00 or 6.10 came out tomorrow there is no way you could run it. The only way you'll be able to get custom firmware is as you say if they create an exploit of the 6.00 firmware, which seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

Listen, just a tip. I really, really hate it when people try and justify piracy (or rather, openly-talking about it) by the fact that a modified PSP can play backups. You still have the option of buying UMDs. Downloads are convenient, albeit a waste of space.

Listen, just a tip. I really, really hate it when people make assumptions. Why would I re-buy my 8 PSX disc-owned titles, when I can download the backups off the internet and play them on my PSP? "Assumptions make an ass out of you and me"

Who said I was justifying piracy? If you read my post again, I was implying that it wasn't a good thing that I wouldn't have access to the PSN store. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, you should ask, instead of jumping to conclusions.

rip the games and convert them yourself

That is still illegal my friend. You're legally allowed to back up your own games, not download someone elses. So the correct thing to do would be to rip those PSX discs yourself, and convert them to EBOOTs for PSP yourself.
