Well, let me start off by saying, "Hi. Haven't been here in a while."

So, here's my problem, I was downgrading my PSP from 5.50GEN-D2 to OFW 1.50 and I worked my way back up to OFW 6.20 (Shit).

Now, here's where the real problem begins. I turned off the PSP for a bit, and on return after everything having worked fine and dandy, the PSP turns on and greets me with a nice black screen. The green light shines bright, taunting me. Also, when I try to turn the PSP off I have to hold the switch up for a lot longer than usual.

Is this a brick? If so, what can I do to fix it?

    Extra Info:
    PSP-1001 (PHAT)
Never bricked a PSP before until now (have hacked 5+ PSPs)
I tried to make an MMS using Frost's guide, then remembered that uh.. dur hur black screen can't do anything with the PSP!
I used Hellcat's Recovery 1.50 to downgrade to 1.50 (Fresh) and used the "Create Pandora Battery" function before I did so.

so have you tried to restore it using an MMS and pandora? since it is a phat, dude, you must know that it is hackable by all means. oh and about making an MMS, dont you have a card reader or somethign? or why not use another psp to connect to the pc?

or probably your battery is still a pandora one. try connecting the AC adaptor to the psp and turn it on, see what happens.

Yes, I'm asking my brother for his PSP right now. He has a slim, but making the MMS there shouldn't make a difference. As for the AC + Pandora setup, I've tried popping in the battery and holding down the right trigger, then again using the left trigger, then again, and again with different combinations. Nothing seems to work as far as the battery is concerned. The screen just stays black.

I've commandeered my brothers PSP, and I'll be making an MMS shortly.

...son of a.. thank you for clarifying that. I just took out the battery and it was like, "WELCOME!" now I need to see if I can get it working with the battery in.

If your on OFW then there is no recovery mode to access. Reflashing should solve your problem, also even though you have a black screen does it make noise??. In other words does it play the start up song?.
