Quick question about firmware

Hi all,

Ive been reading but there a lot to digest so I thought I would just ask

I bought a used Daxter bundle on Ebay. If the original owner upgraded the firmware (I do not know), is this a problem? If so, is it possible to overcome?

If the Firmware is over 5.03 then you have to use a Pandora and MMS. If it is under, there is another way of doing CFW.

OK great. I ordered one of the cheap tool batteries from dealtime. Can I use my normal memory stick for the MMS? Or do I need a separate one?

You can use the one you have, once it is installed you can format it to clear it, and then use as normal.

what firmware are you running right now? and make sure your memory card is at 128 mb or more...i use a 512mb, make sure it's supported too by going to either your pics or games on the psp and press triangle on the memory card icon and see if it says "magic gate supported"

MMS files should work just fine on a Magicgate: Unknown stick. :x

yeah, mine did...the 1st 1 i made, tried to format it back to normal, complete failure and went in the trash...did it on 2 unknown magic gates, same issue when trying to reverse it to normal again just a heads up.

Not sure, it hasnt arrived yet, but the memory card coming with it is the original one from the Daxter bundle so I think it will be supported.

gotcha...post up when you do get it and what firmware is on it, cause if it's under 5.03, Jubba has made an awesome guide on installing cfw with chickhen and no pandora/mms needed for that.
