I have a PSP 3001 that has firmware 5.51 and I can't figure out how to hack it. Should I trade it in for a PSP 2000 or is there a way for me to hack it?
5.51 Firmware, he cannot hack that 3k at all. :x
NO.
I wish people would stop badgering us with the same fucking questions. Don't take it personally, it's a large-scale problem. It's just that, instead of taking up the time to sign up to this forum, where your only two posts have been to ask a question that's been posed a million times, and to ask us, once again, if we are sure that we're correct, you could have Googled it and found your answer in a matter of seconds.

ok so which psp 2000 should i get? cuz im planning to buy it used from gamestop
Shit yeah didn't see the 5.51.
If you grab any of the special editions, they're guarenteed hackable (Star Wars, God of War, etc). The Blue Madden ones are NOT hackable though, so don't buy those. With the other ones, you're pretty much playing Russian Roulette, although if any of them turn out to be on firmware 5.03 or lower, it's semi-hackable. As the person at the counter if you can have a look at it and look at the firmware.

then get a used from gamestop. not like theres much of a choise, used ones have a high ass chance of being hackable.

Or you can get a 1k, guaranteed hackable.
yea but i hate 1k's... theyre so fat and slow

ok.... but i think im gonna take the risk with a 2k. when ppl return their psp's does it come with the original firmware or the firmware that they last had on it?
i believe gamestop updates them. to OFW of course.

Just to clarify, Blue Maddens are about 50/50 hackable / unhackable, but that's reason enough to usually just avoid them if possible.
Silver 2ks are hackable. Could keep an eye out for those.
