I've got a hacked PSP, but I've just bought a new game and it needs to install the latest software to play it. So basically, I want to get back to a Sony Firmware NOT a hacked one! How do I do it?

    It's currently on 3.40 OE-A

To play it, you could still stay on CFW, Just update to Gen D3. But, to get to OFW again, i believe just run the Firmware update off the disk or network update, I believe.

just update like you would normally, on the XMB, go to update, .....but you can play the games if you move to Gen or use the decrypter, but with Gen, most of all the newer games out will play on it, there are a few you might need to decrypt...Id keep the CFW, but thats just my opinion, and updating to 5.50 Gen D3 isnt hard at all either, copy and paste the update in the PSP/Game folder, turn on PSP, run the update from the game section

When I do that I get the error "The game could not be started. (DADADADA)" How can I get it back to OFW so I can update it to OFW? Can I keep it on CFW to get it onto OFW?

did you hit select, brings up the VSH menu, and hit the Sony or M33 driver, if you play em off your stick use the M33 driver, if you use a UMD use the Sony or the UMD setting...that should fix that problem.....and yes, if you want the latest OFW, go to the Update and run it, When your on the XMB, move all the way over to the left and move up, should say Update, hit that and wait and youll be on OFW, and you need to connect through wifi to update

I'm using 3.40 and I've checked and the VSH menu only works on 3.52 and above. Is it possible to upgrade to a new CFW and then update from that to a OFW?

If you really want OFW, turn on your PSP,wait for the main screen,(The XMB, with the videos, music, game icons etc.,) hold left on the D-pad, til it stops, hold up on Dpad, you should be at Update, hit that and be around a wi fi connection, thats all you do...and yea watch the double and triple posting, that pisses off the mods

all the tools you need really is a stick,a computer to read stick/put files on,
a knife to open the battery, and to cut the right pin off

all good...it works, i wouldn't do that to my psp battery though, i know it's nothing really to it, but i have my preferences.

he's actually using the stick and a card reader...he pm'd me, for some reason his windows 7 won't recognize his psp connected. so he's using other tools
