Psp 2001 Serial Ab02... Are They Hackable?

Ok i realize i have just recently made a thread but this is a different topic, if youve seen my last thread you know i have a psp 2001 that came with 4.01 ofw, i updated to 6.20 and went through with a tutorial on how to hack to 5.00 m33-4, needless to say as far as the thread name is it didnt work. so i did some research and it says (as of 2009) that psp 2001's with aserial of AB)@ are unhackable/ I was just wondering,is this still the case? and if so will these psp's ever become hackable? please help. thanks

I'm thinking a better tactic for noobs is to quickly reply with the appropriate sticky and just say something to the effect of "Look at stickies and search in the future please". Hopefully other noobs would see that and get the hint to look around quick. I mean, do these folks look at ANYTHING before they make a post?

ok, i checked the post and im getting mixed signals, for 1 it came in a box with a see through window like you said, which apparently makes it hackable. on the other hand it has the AB02 which says makes it unhackable... would someone please give me a clear cut answer? (which by now im fairly certain will be 'unhackable you noob'

It seems that you missed this.

your right

if its less than AB021600000, then it has a TA-088v1 Hackable

if its more than AB022499999, then it has a TA-088v3 Unhackable

everything in between is 50/50

similar goes for serials starting with HU

If its less than HU2160000, then it has a TA-088v1 Hackable
If its more than HU2249999, then it has a TA-088v3 Unhackable

numbers between HU2160000 and HU2249999 is 50/50

any serial starting with HB, HC, HE or HJ should be hackable

well isnt that dandy... i appriciate the help guys, just a little bummed that a 2 year old psp cant be hacked and somehow some 3ks can. well i guess im on a hunt to look gor either a gow or vader owner unknowing of hacking willing to trade me for an unhackable psp with a dead pixel. one quick question however, do you think bestbuy will take a psp without reciept if it has a dead pixel In exchange for a new one? (hopefully some idiot gives me a 3k that i can sell =D)

3ks are not hackable. They can have temporary cfw that is stored on the Ram through an exploit, but only if it's on 5.03 firmware. Any higher and nothing at all. Same with unhackable 2ks.

Your best bet is to sell the 2k, and get a 1k. All 1ks are hackable.

yeah i had a hacked 1k, buut then the screen cracked and bestbuy gave me this piece of shit 2100. i think theres this kid down the street from me with a gow bundle psp, and as the gude you directed me to said, those are all hackable. except id rather have the vader psp cause there so damn sexy hahaha, i really do appreciate the help though, thanx!
