interesting story...what's your firmware??? main psp screen, go left, system settings, system information...
then go from there...use my guide for everything and you'll be solid, read the "guide key" up top before scanning the whole thing.

Hey everyone
Long version:
About a week ago I bought a psp 1000 from a pawnshop, my friend modded it for me, and i bought a nice 8gig memory card, I was loving having it modded, then tragedy struck, i noticed that the battery was fully draining in an hour, I got it checked top to bottom, and it turned out something in the motherboard was fried, unrepairable
so i returned it to the pawnshop (and after argueing with the owner for about 30 minutes) i finally got a "refund" and by that, I mean they gave me another 1000 they had just gotten in instead of my money!
So I get this psp home, put in my memory card, and low and behold it was already modded for meI load up all the games to make sure they are working, and all but one did, unfortunately the one that didn't is my favorite game of all time!
All other games are iso's and cso's the game that won't work (grandia) is a pbp file, my question is, will a simple firmware update fix this? considering the firmware on the psp is likely very old (not sure how to check and in a hurry ,sorry I couldn't look through the site)
Oh, the game also shows the credits, like the game company and what not, but it just doesn't work when the "press start" screen would normally appear, thanks so much!
Short version:
Just got an already modded psp from a pawn shop, iso and cso's work, pbp doesn't would firmware update fix it? thanks!

Thanks for replying so quickly!
and now that I know how to check I'm thinking it's not the firmware...
"5.50 GEN-D3" thats fairly recent isn't it?
Oh, maybe It's devhook? I havn't installed it onto this psp from the memory card, but cso's are working fine.. hmm =/
Copies of PSP games aren't meant to run as PBP, they're meant to run as ISO. PBP files are contained in a backed up ISO.
I ran grandia on my old psp in the pbp format, I just put it in a folder called "grandia" in the games folder =/ and like I said, it shows the company logos and stuff, just not the start screen... =/
Wait, is Grandia a PS1 game? Install the POPSloader plugin.
Oh? alright thanks I'll try that![]()
I am just wondering why it shows the logos but not the game =/ oh well, lets hope popsloaer works![]()
Sorry for being so noobish, but quick question, a guide I found says popsloader only works with m33 firmware, I have 5.5 gen d3 like I said before, is this just an old guide? or am I going to have to switch firmware?
that must be a very stupid guide. it'll work fine.

Ok really sorry for triple posting but this is terrible, I just checked, and on all the games that ARE working, my save data is corrupted, how could this happen? all I did was plug the memory card into a different psp!
I believe you kinda sol on that, if I remember correctly the savegames have a different encryption then the newer FW's....Look around for a solution, its been too long since ive ran nto that problem, and I think I just said fuck it and started over on em.
BIO=+-.
run the prometheus updater...in my guide as well and things for data corruption on D3, told you to read it.
prometheus should fix it though, if not...run the fixer app i have in there and then run prometheus again. all in the Gen section, use the "key".

Ok there ya go, listen to goku, he knows promethius better than i
