    Hi!!

I am a fan of this forum. In fact I bought my PSP based on the suggestions of this forum.

    PSP Spec:

PSP 2001 ICE SLIM DAXTER MODEL

    Firmware : 3.80 (Initially)

Memory Stick : 1 GB Came with PSP.

    Modification Done:

Moding the PSP for playing games directly from MMS.

    Upgradation Done:

    Installed CFW 5.50 Gen-D3

    Problem:

Initially there was no problem copied Tekken 6 into MMS and played. The next day PSP hanged and turned off while watching movie in UMD with a click sound.

After I restarted it and tried to play Tekken 6 after some moment it hanged and turned off with a click sound. .

Tried to play Cars using UMD. Same problem game ran for few min then hanged and turned of with a click sound.

Then used another MMS and formatted in PSP installed dead or alive played 30 min and same problem occured. After it I again restarted the PSP and same problem occurred with a clicking sound. Then could not turn it on for a while and after I removed the batt for a while and took it back again and then I could turn it on.

Formatted the memory stick from computer and did'nt format in PSP again. Played CARS UMD for 2 hours. No problem was there.

Next day played Daxter UMD for 2.5 hours no problem found. When i quit the game and came to base screen using home Key it turned off.

I used my friend's MMS and formatted it in my PSP connected my psp in my laptop and tried to copy socom.iso in iso folder. It ran for a while and my PSP went black. then my I put the MMS back to my friend's psp my friend's PSP went black too with same clicking sound.

I thought my PSP MMS reading hardware may be corrupted. So what I did I formatted the MMS in my laptop and put it back to my PSP without formatting it from there. and tried to copy the same file in MMS. This time no problem occurred copy was successful.

I think my firmware is corrupted. Should I downgrade to 5.00 M33?
    or any other solution.... ???

Thank You very much for reading this long long thread.....

Please help me if you can....

    Regards

N.B. My Friend and I use same firmware version and same model PSP.

i have other thoughts on your games at hand, but i'm going to avoid the obvious since you left that pretty clean...

your story is kinda crazy trying to understand exactly...now a "mms" stands for a magic memory stick, if you kept formatting it, it wasn't a mms anymore, that's 1.

    2. when you put the games on that stick and played them on 2 different psp's, it made clicking sounds on both and went black...so my somewhat conclusion to this, it's a bad memory card you're using, you can try reflashing it but if that card is doing it to 2 different psp's, gotta be the card or you're "backup copies" of *cough, cough* your games, are ripped bad.

Thank You very much Goku 2778... you know What I did I just downgraded the Firmware to 5.00 M33 since this is the most stable version according to this forum. Now the problem of game hanging and turning with pop sound is solved.

but last night I had played packman 3 for 3 hours and no problem occurred. was happy to know that my psp is fine.. but when I exit the game using Home and answering yes to 'Do you want to quit the game?' it turns off.

And when I wanted to start it again green light showed on power and turned off. Kept it idle for 5 mins and again turned it on and it was fine.

This time I entered the game started it and played for one min and quit the game and again Exited using Home and answering yes to 'Do you want to quit the game. This time no problem occurred.

Just kept it on Stand by mode.....

Why this problem is occurring is this normal?

Is there any other way of Exiting from PSP games if Exit to system option is not present in game?

I played pc games alot but I am new in PSP so please help...

    Thank you again Goku......

No! No plug ins.... can you tell me how to understand one ISO file is damaged or not? Today I was playing GOW chains of olympus. suddenly at one point it stopped and wifi light blinked and my psp turned off. Then I restarted it and again at that same place PSP turned off with blink in wifi light and pop sound. (

At your xmb(psp "home" menu), press select. From there, look for something that relates to clock speed/cpu speed(sorry, i am away from my psp at the moment) and then click x until it reads "333Mhz" or something like that. Just as long as it is at 333.

changing for 333mhz will improve your battery life, but at the same time your psp will be running slower.. For most psp games you will want it to be pretty high, if you experience slowdown then put it at 333.. But if you are playing psx games or watching videos, then it should be ok to drop this. Just see how far down you can go before any 'lag' happens.

That being said, the extended battery life from lowering down from 333 is not greatly significant, so keep it there to play everything on your psp if you wish
