Google hasn't yielded any help at all. If it won't run in cfw, is it possible to change to ofw 6.20 to play the game and back to cfw m33-6 at another time (i have a fat psp)?

And if I can switch back and forth, will it affect my emulators and other stuff already on there?

Ah ok, but once I switch back to cfw everything on the mms should work like it did before? Or would i need to put all my emus/roms/etc back on each time i switch from ofw.

you can be on ofw anything and still run cfw at the same time if you wish...or you can make nand backups of your ofw setup and cfw setup and place them in marked folders on your pc. then when you want one setup over the other, nand restore it, takes a few seconds and works great!

but...have you tried my guide for playing the game on cfw?? go to, Section VII and start with option 1.

as long as you have the umd that is...follow that option for using Psp Iso Tool and decrypting the iso backup on the psp, i did this for Kingdom Hearts BBS and runs perfectly fine on 5.00m33-4 without any plugins or prome updates

let me know how it goes, but i wouldn't update your psp to ofw just yet.

Unfortunately, it is a PSN title so no umd, and it doesn't look like PSNabler is compatible with it. I would appreciate maybe a step by step guide for the nand restore process you were talking about, so I could either run both at the same time or switch back and forth. Sorry about the questions, i'm just not great with some of this stuff.

as long as you have a pandora battery and mms:

go to the install menu on the mms w/pandora...nand operations, dump nand...then back it up to the pc in a folder for storage. then when needed, same process but choose restore nand option

now if you have an mms/pandora again...update to 6.31 and then get to the install menu again for the mms, you can play all your iso backups and homebrews by way of Test m33 function.

be careful though, my psp is permabanned from activation for ps store games because i got the 6.31 update onto my mms and the damn thing embedded something in my system that i can't get rid of and psn tried helping me but can't get it going. so i recommend getting the update manually from the pc and installing it on fresh flashed ofw. you can do that as well with the mms, just choose the ofw install option not the cfw.

Yeah this game only requires 6.20 so if there's a way to go to that one i'm all for it.

So to paraphrase, back up my files on computer, get mms/pandora set, open install mode, dump nand, and update to ofw, then restore nand when i want to go back to cfw.

So a few more things, and i'll leave you alone i swear lol. Sorry i'm horrible at this kind of stuff (it's a miracle my psp works at all).

I've never done the whole nand dumping/restoring thing, is that done while psp is plugged into the computer?

And when I make the ofw upgrade, what is the easiest/best way to do that - I have never ever upgraded to any kind of ofw so I have no clue.

best way to install the ofw is to install 5.00 with your mms (ofw) and then network update it...but don't use the mms for the update to download to, use a different one.

nand dumping operates on the psp itself and gets stored in the root of the mms...if you plan on nand dumping your running ofw after you dumped your cfw, take the cfw and make a folder on the desktop labeled for it and then make the next nand dump. it over writes any previous nand backups

just make sure everything is working on the psp with ofw before dumping that setup.

no problem...i think what happened to me was i used my mms on Test m33 since i'm on D2 and that blocks out updating. so i think since i was emulating cfw like that, the update when it downloaded looked different.

typical updates are just an eboot file and in an update folder...this one when i looked at it on the pc had a folder named with a bunch of numbers and had 2 files inside...that is what i think messed me up.

i'm still trying 1 more thing that i could think of to fix this but i won't say what that is till after i try and it works lol, doesn't work then i'm done.

you could use your 32mb card that came with the psp if you have that, it's just big enough for the update. but just make sure you're on ofw to do this as a "just in case"...but other members on here i talk to regularly have done the 6.31 updating from cfw without flaw, i think i messed mine up like i said above.

Good luck with your new secret method lol, I hope it works for you. I found a 6.20 update with just the eboot file, so I added that to my psp. It is on my xmb when i go to my mem stick, it shows up with an icon like everything else. I'll probably run that and see what happens (after backing up my mem stick of course), since I haven't heard of anyone on 6.20 having problems like you were having. Worst-case scenario it doesn't work and I just restore it back to good ol' 5.00m33-6.

not a secret but i don't wanna jinx myself...i just have an "idea" of why it won't work once back on 6.31...but your route sounds good to me to too, i would do that, you should be fine.

i wasn't trying to scare you off of the idea of updating at all, was just giving a little tip on what not to do

my worst case is i won't enjoy game demo's or games from psn....not a big loss to me, told the rep i'll buy the game and if it sucks, i'll exchange it

but post back when done and good luck...i say you'll be fine dude, don't worry
