07-23-2006, 03:55 PM hi, please help me, i have v1,5 psp, been playing medievil time to time untill i start getting an error message "you must update your system software to play" !! i have now suddenly also on the menulist a new additional icon for "update to 1,52", so what to do now? i have a 1,5 firmware, i wanna play an orginal umd but i cant and the homebrews wont start anymore as well, any suggestions? thanx

i think cuz some of the downgraded psp had the firmware corrupted, so it doesnt recognizes and the psp fw is messed, if not

07-23-2006, 04:59 PM nothing, actually my gf had this problem with her own downgraded psp, she wanted to play medievil after a few days break, checked myself, everything seemed to be just ok, but the damn psp wants a fw update, than i put the umd to try on my own psp (downgraded too), and i have the same problem, was playing tekken the whole day with devhook, but now mine seem to be jammed too,im loosing my mind...

as far as i know, this only works for 1.51/1.52 req games
(meaning its not supported for fw 2.0+)

and since im such a blockhead and dident really read your question carefully, it semms that you either
screwed up your fw by downgrading from 2.5+ to 1.5 or have a 1.0 fw in your hands atm.
which means that you cant run xploited eboots err..homebrew.. or games with fw higher than 1.0
EDIT3:
my bad, the spoff/flash trick that makes it into a fw 1.0-13.37
will also make all umd games playable atleast from 2.8+

go bust out your old PS1 and play the medevil game for that thing... its the same game just ported over...

no but really.... i would recomend putting in a umd that will update your psp to 2.6 then using a downgrader to get it back to 1.5... that might clear up whatever happend to your firmware... than use Devhook 0.45 to play your games and homebrew....
