Fat PSP CFW Update Confusion

Hey, I haven't messed with my psp for awhile and just got a couple new UMD's to play on it. I have CFW 5.00 m33-4. The games will not run on this CFW. Looking through some other threads, I saw Pirate reply with updating the psp to Official firmware 6.60 and then downloading and instal 6.60ME-1.6(OFW Version). My question is, is that really all that is needed? Before when going to CFW I remember having to use a Pandora battery. Has everything been so streamlined that I only have to update to the current official version, then just simply install that CFW?

yeah, its really that easy now.
you no longer need a pandora battery to install cfw.

in section 6 of my guide, step by step method is there to install 6.60 ME 1.6. just follow that and you should be on the latest cfw.
