    First relavant info

    System Software Version 5.51
    Barcode AB0033779219-PSP2001
    Serial No HU337921

All I am looking to do is run older games through a emulator (SNES NES Genesis).
I have read many guides and am stuck at finding out if my motherboard is hackeable or not.

    Questions
Can I just try to install a CFW or will this brick my PSP if I have a unhackable motherboard?
What CFW is the simplest and best for my use ?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

you have a psp slim(ie. psp 2k) right?

the serial no. of the slim shows that it is an unhackable mobo.
can you find the datecode of your psp and post it so that i can confirm if hackable or not? you will find it below the battery compartment.

even if it is unhackable, you can install lite custom firmware and it won't brick your psp.
    as for the best cfw

    for hackable: 6.60 ME 1.8
    for unhackable: 6.60 LME 1.8

if the datecode isn't there(for some models) then just follow this.

    install 6.60 LME 1.6

    6.60 LME 1.6

    1.Download it from here:
6.60LME-1.6 - Downloads - PSPMOD.com - PSP Forum, Hack PSP, PSV Hacks, PS Vita Hack, PSVita
2.Make sure you are on 6.60 ofw else update to it
    http://www.pspmod.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=212
    3..Extract the 6.60 LME folder
4.Copy the INSTALLER and LAUNCHER to the game folder in your PSP Memory card. or just merge the PSP folder in the archive with that of your mem card
    4.Run the Installer from XMB
    5.Finally run the Launcher

then download pspident, and copy it to the game folder and run it.let me know the motherboard it reports.

    Thanks for the quick response.

    It is a slim.

I will try 6.60 LME 1.6 after the psp updates as it says it needs ofw 6.60.

It worked and I was able to run SNES9x Euphoria.
PSPident says it is a TA-085.
The guide says that is hackable right?
With this cfw I will have to do the reboot each time I restart the psp?

Thanks again I really did not think it would be that easy you saved me lots of banging my head on my desk.
