error code DADADADA PSP 1001 - help

i have a psp 1001 that was bought in late 2005, the software says: 3.10 OE-A
after much research on forums and youtube, i found that it has custom firmware and my question is how i can remove that firmware so the psp can just be on the normal sony original firmware. i am connected to the internet, i need to download the new update of 6.6 before the unit allows me to play any game, which right now i cannot do.
i've done the "hold the R button and slide the power up" routine, i've plugged the psp into my computer and dragged a 'eboot' file into the psp/game folder...

i run a pawn shop and need it to be normal and in working order, i have read through some questions on this site and still have not found an appropriate solution to the problem. any help would be greatly appreciated
